Postal package acceptance events for AI review
A tracking label can exist before a package is accepted.
NAICS 491110 · Postal Service
A tracking label can exist before a package is accepted. A model that treats electronic notice as physical possession may give the wrong answer about where a package is. USPS’s public tracking resources provide examples of tracking status. A postal operator can create a clean benchmark for event interpretation with mock labels and invented timestamps. USPS package tracking help · USPS Tracking API
Make up three barcode values that cannot be used as valid tracking numbers. Give one package a label record and an acceptance event, a second electronic notice only, and a third an acceptance correction with a verified reference. Ask whether the operator has taken possession and which record establishes it. Put a document creation time and an event time in different fields.
Keep addresses, recipient names, signatures, parcel contents, route details, and valid barcodes private. Verify rights before using any third-party records or actual tracking data.

Original Fiund exercise
Electronic label notice is separate from physical package acceptance
Three original nonfunctional barcode aliases appear on prop labels. They cannot be used as valid tracking numbers and contain no recipient, address or parcel contents.
| Record | Source | What it records |
|---|---|---|
| PAE1 | Package A | Label created 08:00, electronic notice 08:01. Separate acceptance event explicitly names A, observed 09:00 and entered 09:05. |
| PAE2 | Package B | Electronic notice only at 08:10. No physical acceptance event supplied. |
| PAE3 | Package C correction | Acceptance event C1 originally named C-old; approved correction explicitly maps that same event to C, preserving observed 09:20 and entry 09:25. |
Question for the model
Which packages have documentary acceptance evidence, and which timestamps describe creation, observation and entry?
Show the reference answer and checks
PAE1 supports A's physical acceptance observation at 09:00, separately entered at 09:05; its 08:00 label creation is not possession. PAE2 leaves B with electronic notice only. PAE3's approved correction supports C through the same C1 event at observed 09:20, preserving its later entry time. Do not count the correction as another package or infer B acceptance from label availability. The fixture makes no real delivery or location promise.
- Treating electronic notice or label creation as physical possession.
- Confusing document-entry time with observed event time or double-counting an acceptance correction.
Fields to preserve
- Invalid barcode/package alias
- Defines the item.
- Label, notice and acceptance event type
- Separates states.
- Observed/entered times and correction link
- Preserves lineage.
Test another case
Remove C's approved correction and retain only a similar label. Require C's acceptance association to become unresolved.
Use original props and synthetic timestamps. Exclude valid barcodes, signatures, routes and actual tracking records without verified rights.
