Landscape architecture path alignment and site records for AI

An outdoor route can move between plan versions while an older grade annotation remains in circulation.

An outdoor route can move between plan versions while an older grade annotation remains in circulation. The U.S. Access Board publishes guidance for outdoor developed areas under the Architectural Barriers Act. A landscape architect can test version and measurement retrieval using an invented site. U.S. Access Board outdoor developed areas guide

Draw two alignments on an abstract site. Give the first a segment measurement and the second a revised segment identifier without a field reading. Ask the model to link the known measurement to its correct segment and state which value needs verification. Have a reviewer score alignment, revision and units separately.

Keep real boundaries, landowner data, protected site features and client plans out. Use your own drawings and leave compliance and design decisions with professionals.

Describe a fictional landscape route sample

Original Fiund exercise

A revised route cannot inherit a measurement from the old alignment

Two original abstract path alignments have dummy segment measurements. There is no real site, accessibility conclusion, protected feature or design approval.

Fictional records supplied to the evaluator
RecordSourceWhat it records
LAR1Practice alignment ASegment A1 has reviewed measurement Q=4 units under condition C.
LAR2Approved plan revision BReplaces A1 with differently routed segment B1. No B1 measurement supplied.
LAR3Circulating annotationShows Q=4 beside B1 but explicitly cites A1's earlier field card. No equivalence or new observation recorded.

Question for the model

Which alignment has direct measurement evidence, and does moving its annotation onto B1 establish B1's value?

Show the reference answer and checks

LAR1 directly supports Q=4 for A1 under condition C. LAR2 changes the route to B1 without a matching observation. LAR3 still cites A1's source, so annotation placement does not establish a new B1 measurement or equivalence. Report the verified old-alignment value and the new segment's evidence gap rather than treating a plan revision as a transferred field result or a compliance determination.

  • Applying an old alignment's measurement to a differently routed segment.
  • Treating a moved annotation as a newly verified field observation.

Fields to preserve

Alignment and segment revision
Defines the measured geometry.
Measurement source and condition
Preserves the actual observation.
Annotation-to-source link
Exposes stale values on revised plans.

Test another case

Add B1's independent measurement with a different value while A1 remains in the archive. Require revision-specific retrieval rather than choosing the familiar older number.

Use independent abstract drawings. Exclude boundaries, owners, protected site features and client plans.
