NAICS 322220 · Paper Bag and Coated and Treated Paper Manufacturing

A coated sheet or paper bag can have distinct faces and a specified fold orientation. FDA's food-contact component guidance provides public context for keeping a component's intended use attached to its source evidence. FDA food-contact material context

Create an original paper mockup with visible face markers, a fictional coating ticket and a bag-forming instruction. Reverse the marked face in one assembly while preserving the outer dimensions. Ask the assistant to compare the assembly with the instruction and identify which source supports the coating claim. Include a decorative print proof with the same product name but a different material identifier.

Annotate sheet face, material lot, fold step, instruction revision and source region. Hold out a new bag geometry during evaluation. Score orientation errors separately from wrong-document matching. A model should be able to report a visible reversal without claiming chemical performance or food-contact suitability from a photograph.

Use inert paper and invented declarations for the pilot. Actual coating recipes, customer artwork and supplier evidence can carry separate restrictions. Describe the face-orientation and evidence task in the licensing brief. Confirm the buyer's accepted scope and independent-review requirements before collecting production files or recording live converting work.

Follow the coated face through the fold

A plain original sheet has a circle on one face and a cross on the other. A fictional forming note applies to one bag model.

Fictional records supplied to the evaluator
RecordSourceWhat it records
F1Coating ticketSheet Z4 coated face marked circle.
F2Toy forming noteBag model M calls for coated face inward.
F3Open bag imageCross visible on the inner floor; circle visible on outer floor.
F4Fold mapThese floor views correspond to the same panel of Z4.

Question for the model

Is the pictured coating face where the forming note expects it?

Show the reference answer and checks

No. F1 assigns the coating to the circle face, F3 shows that face outside, and F4 confirms the same panel is being compared. F2 calls for the coating inside. The cross being visible inside identifies the opposite face, not another coated surface.

  • Using the side visible before forming as the final inside
  • Assuming both faces are coated when both are marked

Fields to preserve

face_code
Connects an observed marker to treatment identity
final_panel_side
Maps each face to the formed item's inside or outside
forming_variant
Sets the expected orientation for the bag model

Test another case

Show a bag with a lined wall hiding the sheet face. Require panel-specific visibility before assigning orientation.

No actual coating recipes, food-contact properties, commercial labels or converting settings.
