Manufacturing AI sample worksheet: visible state and matching evidence

Build an original manufacturing evaluation around a practice fixture, matching records, a reference answer and a deliberately incomplete view.

Choose one observation a reviewer can verify

A useful first example can connect an image, an item identifier and the instruction that applies to that item. NIST’s assembly work provides technical context for structured task evaluation. Scale’s enterprise program provides a separate commercial sourcing signal for real operating records. Neither establishes buyer acceptance of the fictional worksheet.

Use original paper drawings, inert props or an authorized training fixture. The proposed question should concern the supplied evidence, such as which marked position is visible. Keep operational approval and equipment decisions outside the exercise. A recorded appearance does not establish function, quality certification or safe operation.

Work through the three worksheet cases

DEMO-01 supplies two matching views of a practice connector, with a visible marker and an independently checked reference position. DEMO-02 has an angled view that hides the relevant latch and a test sheet for another attempt. DEMO-03 uses a different housing whose visible marker shows the incomplete practice position.

The reference confirms the stated visible position for DEMO-01, leaves DEMO-02 unresolved and classifies DEMO-03 under its supplied practice definition. DEMO-02’s unrelated sheet cannot fill its missing view. Keep the different housing as an evaluation case so a model must use the evidence rather than memorize the first prop.

Preserve the source relationships

Record specimen, attempt, instruction revision, view and observation time. Link every test or review record to the attempt it concerns. Keep an issued instruction, a change request and an executed event distinguishable. A newer drawing does not automatically apply to an earlier specimen.

When transforming records, verify that meaningful joins survive and that excluded details stay out. Keep duplicate views and near-identical revisions together when designing a training and evaluation split. Label model estimates and human-reviewed observations according to their actual origin.

Add a new question when the source changes

Inspection imagery, material lineage, machine histories and assembly recordings support different tasks. A video may show a hand motion while a document explains why a change was authorized. If the model needs force, calibrated geometry or robot actions, specify those signals separately; the worksheet does not provide them.

The industry guides contain specific examples for materials, equipment, components, food, textiles and transportation manufacturing. Choose the source relationship closest to the work the team can explain. A tightly scoped task can be assessed before a large production archive is prepared.

Clear the actual collection before a transfer

Identify who controls drawings, customer designs, process records, worker appearances and location access. Keep restricted specifications, live controls and real identifiers outside an initial practice package. A factory’s internal access is separate from authority for AI training or multi-buyer licensing.

Use the worksheet to describe the question, evidence, reference reviewer and exclusions. Ask for the accepted source, rights, deliverable and commercial process before expanding capture or export. A fictional demonstration is useful for scoping and remains separate from a licensed operating dataset.
