Corrugated box data for testing AI order and blank checks
A model that reads a shipping carton’s outside dimensions still needs to determine whether the box matches its converting order.
NAICS 322211 · Corrugated and Solid Fiber Box Manufacturing
A model that reads a shipping carton’s outside dimensions still needs to determine whether the box matches its converting order. The Fibre Box Association explains corrugated construction. A Walmart specification published through the association illustrates how a packaging customer can define board and automation requirements. These sources support the workflow, with licensing demand still to validate. Fibre Box Association on corrugated · Walmart corrugated specifications
Use flat, unprinted blanks and a mock order. Create one blank with the right dimensions and wrong flute orientation, then a comparable blank that meets the invented order. Photograph the edge and score lines. Record nominal versus measured dimensions and attach any test evidence under a neutral specimen ID. Include a case where the required material attribute cannot be inferred from an exterior photo. Ask the model to request the missing observation instead of assuming a pass.
Remove customer dielines, shipment marks, prices, and load details. A shop can demonstrate the decision with generic material and its own mock acceptance sheet.
Describe the box quality sample
Original Fiund exercise
A rotated blank has no matching compression entry
A fictional blank and drawing label flute direction. Indexed test stubs are empty and carry no load values.
| Record | Source | What it records |
|---|---|---|
| B1 | Blank reference | Blank K2 should have flute direction parallel to fold F2. |
| B2 | Edge photo | K2 sample flutes run perpendicular to F2. |
| B3 | Report index | Entry C1 covers K2 parallel configuration; C2 covers blank K3 perpendicular. |
| B4 | Review request | Identify an applicable test reference if one exists. |
Question for the model
Can either entry support the perpendicular K2 sample?
Show the reference answer and checks
No. The observed sample in B2 is K2 perpendicular and differs from B1. C1 matches K2 with a different orientation; C2 matches orientation with a different blank. B3 has no exact match, so the observed configuration remains unlinked to compression evidence.
- Inferring flute direction from exterior artwork
- Picking a test reference that matches only one key
Fields to preserve
- blank_variant
- Identifies the geometry covered
- flute_to_fold
- Measures orientation relative to a defined fold
- evidence_configuration
- Requires the variant and orientation together
Test another case
Supply a cropped photo with no fold label; keep direction in image coordinates without claiming relation to F2.
No real strength claims, performance results, engineering recommendations or customer packaging.
Discuss a contribution
Describe the sources you control, the task they could support and what has already been checked. Use the existing-data assessment for an archive or the collection brief for a new recording project. The contributor agreement defines Fiund’s licensing authority and compensation. A guide or fictional exercise does not establish an accepted collection or a sale.
