The Aluminum Extruders Council explains alloy and temper as parts of an extrusion specification. An original task can test whether a model preserves both attributes when reading product and processing records. AEC alloys and tempers

Design a fictional profile, a billet ticket and a processing traveler with separate alloy and condition fields. Give two profiles identical geometry but different recorded conditions. Ask the assistant which certificate matches the order and which association is missing for an unmarked cut length. Include a corrected traveler where only the condition entry changes, leaving the original available for version review.

Annotate billet source, extrusion run, profile, condition, cut length and effective document version. Hold out a new profile shape for evaluation. Score matching on geometry alone, omitting the condition and using a superseded entry independently. The reference key should avoid inferring properties from appearance when only the record supplies the relevant information.

Use original drawings, inert profile props and invented values. Customer dies, proprietary processing conditions and laboratory reports need permission for the intended use. Describe the specification-and-lineage task and qualified review in the contributor brief. Confirm buyer requirements before preparing an archive or commissioning more factory capture.

Original Fiund exercise

An alloy code does not establish the final condition

A paper profile and fictional traveler model material identity. Neither alloy nor condition codes correspond to actual products.

Fictional records supplied to the evaluator
RecordSourceWhat it records
1OrderProfile P5, alloy mock A, final condition T2.
2Billet ticketB7 has mock alloy A.
3TravelerP5 produced from B7; final-condition field missing.

Question for the model

What portion of the order match is supported?

Show the reference answer and checks

Records 2 and 3 trace P5 to alloy A, so the alloy key matches record 1. The final condition T2 remains unverified because the traveler lacks that field. Billet identity does not supply evidence of the finished profile's separate processing condition.

  • Deriving final condition from alloy alone
  • Using the ordered condition as evidence of its completion

Fields to preserve

billet_id
Provides source-material lineage
alloy_key
Tests material identity
final_condition_status
Separates planned and evidenced condition

Test another case

Use a traveler with T2 at an intermediate step followed by T3; identify the effective final condition.

No actual alloy grades, structural applications, extrusion settings or qualification claims.
