Aluminum sheet and foil data for AI slit-coil and sample review

An aluminum coil may be divided into narrower outputs while retaining source and test relationships.

An aluminum coil may be divided into narrower outputs while retaining source and test relationships. The Aluminum Association provides product-standard context. A contributor can propose an original dataset around those parent-child links and the location of a measured sample. Aluminum Association product standards

Create a fictional parent-coil map, slit schedule and child-coil tickets. Take a mock sample from only one strip. Ask the assistant which output has direct sample evidence and which children share only the documented parent. Add a proposed slit layout with different widths and an unreadable child identifier. The reviewer key should follow the executed schedule and retain the unresolved child.

Label parent coil, strip position, child identifier, sample location, unit and schedule status. Evaluation can change the number of strips and measurement units with explicit definitions. Score sample results extended to unsupported locations, use of the proposed schedule and false child matches independently. A correct answer should explain the evidence level for each output.

Use original diagrams and invented readings. Actual customer dimensions, proprietary process data and inspection reports require appropriate sharing authority. Explain the lineage-and-sampling task and independent key to prospective buyers. Their accepted brief should determine the scope of any further documents or capture prepared for licensing.

Locate a parent coupon within its child coil

An original coil diagram defines half-open transverse intervals measured from a marked edge.

Fictional records supplied to the evaluator
RecordSourceWhat it records
1Slit planChild A covers [0,40) mm; B covers [40,70); C covers [70,100).
2Sample ticketCoupon spans [68,72) mm in the parent coordinate frame.
3Lab indexResult belongs to the intact parent coupon.

Question for the model

Which child can claim the intact coupon result?

Show the reference answer and checks

Neither B nor C covers the whole coupon. Records 1 and 2 split its span at 70 mm: two millimeters in each child. Record 3 measures the intact coupon, not the pieces separately, so retain the result at parent-coupon scope.

  • Using the coupon center to assign the entire result
  • Copying one combined measurement to both children

Fields to preserve

parent_span_mm
Records full specimen extent
slit_boundary
Maps parent locations to children
result_scope
Prevents inventing per-child results

Test another case

Move a coupon's endpoint exactly to a slit boundary and use the half-open convention consistently.

No real slit schedules, commercial specs, plant records or conformity decisions.

Discuss a contribution

Describe the sources you control, the task they could support and what has already been checked. Use the existing-data assessment for an archive or the collection brief for a new recording project. The contributor agreement defines Fiund’s licensing authority and compensation. A guide or fictional exercise does not establish an accepted collection or a sale.
