PRACTICAL RESOURCE
What health care and social services teams can contribute to AI
A dental office can record a tray setup with consenting staff and a practice model.
A dental office can record a tray setup with consenting staff and a practice model. A hospital can author a fictional discharge handoff and ask clinicians to grade the response. A provider can also discuss a separately reviewed package of operating records. Each route involves different source material, evaluation methods and permissions.
Separate the buyer signals
| Public evidence | What it supports | First question |
|---|---|---|
| Scale AI lists health care and life sciences in its Data Partnerships program and describes an intake for real operating workflows. | Commercial interest in approved operating records. | Which systems, fields and permissions does the current scope call for? |
| Troveo’s healthcare licensing guide names purchasing, training materials and other operating records. Its physical AI guide describes first-person video. | Vendor-stated sourcing and a public capture format. | Does a current brief fit this workflow and who can authorize the actual material? |
| OpenAI HealthBench uses physician-authored scoring criteria. MentalHealthBench uses synthetic conversations and expert rubrics. | Published evaluation methods. | Can an expert author, score and independently review a fictional example? |
| The FDA’s Pearl 510(k) record shows an application of dental image analysis. The ADA describes validation standards and independent test datasets. | An actual product category and a separate validation problem. | Can the institution establish a lawful source, intended use and independent validation split? |

Make a first sample the team can verify
Pick a low-risk task, such as arranging labeled training props, reconciling a fictional appointment request, or matching a simulated lab amendment to the correct accession. Define the input, observable steps or evidence, expected answer and missing-evidence state. For a video, keep a take with a blocked view and label it for recapture. For a document exercise, give the reviewer a file with an unmatched or unsigned record. Keep scoring independent of the data the model sees.
For real materials, ask a privacy and compliance lead to verify whether sharing is permitted, who holds the rights, and what the agreement permits after delivery. HHS’s HIPAA guidance describes two methods for de-identifying protected health information under the Privacy Rule. Where applicable, Part 2 and other rules can add separate requirements. Film or script the first sample without patients, clients, minors, real exports, screens or background conversations. HHS HIPAA de-identification guidance · HHS Part 2 overview

An original administrative amendment exercise
Create an invented practice accession ACC-A and a report version R1 that explicitly belongs to it. A later amendment R2 corrects an administrative label for ACC-B. Ask whether R2 changes the label for ACC-A. The supported answer is no association shown: the identifiers differ and no linking correction is supplied.
Give a second case with an explicit ACC-A amendment and ask which version applies at the stated cutoff. Score accession matching, version, cutoff and missing evidence separately. Use no patient, clinical result, diagnosis or treatment recommendation. The exercise demonstrates a source relationship and provides no finding that real health records are de-identified or eligible for release.
