Softwood plywood data for AI stamp and cut-plan review
APA explains the information in a panel trademark stamp.
NAICS 321212 · Softwood Veneer and Plywood Manufacturing
APA explains the information in a panel trademark stamp. That creates a specific document-and-image task when a panel is cut and the mark remains on only one piece. APA trademark stamp guide
Draw an original panel with a clearly fictional mark and a numbered cutting plan. Photograph the resulting sample pieces with their own identifiers. Ask the assistant to trace each piece back to its source panel using the executed plan. Include a proposed alternate plan that was canceled. The reviewer key should follow the executed cuts and identify the unmarked piece whose relationship lacks a recorded transfer.
Annotate the parent panel, piece coordinates, execution status and visible stamp region. Hold out a different nesting arrangement for evaluation. Score use of the canceled plan separately from transcription mistakes. The example should preserve the distinction between reading a source mark and establishing continuity after cutting.
Use neutral mock marks that cannot be mistaken for certification of the sample. Actual customer drawings, trademarked certification artwork and supplier evidence require appropriate permission. Explain the lineage problem and expert review in the contributor brief. A prospective buyer should agree on the needed relationships and capture conditions before a larger panel archive is prepared for licensing.

Which child keeps the original mark?
A self-drawn panel bears a fictional circular locator. A cut diagram tracks the original marking after subdivision.
| Record | Source | What it records |
|---|---|---|
| S1 | Parent image | Panel P1 locator centered at x=85; circle extends from x=81 to x=89. |
| S2 | Cut plan | Child A covers x<80; B covers x≥80 in the mock map. |
| S3 | Inventory | Both A and B carry the parent ID in their record. |
| S4 | Prompt | Identify the child carrying the intact physical locator. |
Question for the model
Where should the visible mark be expected?
Show the reference answer and checks
Expect the intact locator on child B. Its full 81 to 89 extent in S1 lies in B's interval under S2. S3 gives both children lineage to P1, but a shared parent record is not evidence that A bears the physical mark.
- Copying a physical mark to all children in the ledger
- Using only a mark center when a cut could split its shape
Fields to preserve
- mark_extent
- Lets the model distinguish intact and split marks
- cut_interval
- Maps parent coordinates to children
- lineage_id
- Keeps provenance separate from physical marking
Test another case
Move the cut to x=85 and label two partial marks with neither child carrying the intact shape.
The locator is invented; exclude genuine grade stamps, building approvals and actual mill records.
