Hardwood plywood data for AI face and core evidence
Hardwood plywood can involve a decorative face and a different underlying construction.
NAICS 321211 · Hardwood Veneer and Plywood Manufacturing
Hardwood plywood can involve a decorative face and a different underlying construction. The USDA Wood Handbook describes wood-based panel products. A contributor can use that context for an original task about which source supports each layer claim. USDA Wood Handbook
Make an original small panel diagram, fictional veneer tickets and a pressing ledger. Assign a face lot, a back lot and a core reference separately. Photograph the face and a cleared offcut edge. Ask the model to identify the documented construction and the claim that remains unsupported when the core ticket is missing. Include another panel with a similar face pattern but different parent identifiers.
The review key should connect each claim to a record or visible region. Hold out a new face appearance during evaluation. Score visual similarity used as identity, unsupported core claims and wrong-lot matching separately. A complete panel with all sources available should also appear, testing whether the assistant can recognize sufficient evidence.
Use original diagrams and sample materials authorized for sharing. Customer veneer selections, licensed decorative designs and supplier reports may have different owners. A licensing proposal should name the layer-association task and the independently reviewed examples. The buyer's accepted specification should determine whether additional material requires documents, edge views or synchronized assembly capture.

A panel face with a separate core ticket
An original drawing and three paper layers represent one fictional panel.
| Record | Source | What it records |
|---|---|---|
| V1 | Panel traveler | Panel P9: front veneer V13, core C2, back veneer V15. |
| V2 | Veneer ticket | V13 is finish sample R; V15 is finish sample S. |
| V3 | Photo caption | The camera is on the back face of P9; edge is masked. |
| V4 | Caption draft | Proposed description says front R visible and core verified. |
Question for the model
How should the caption be corrected?
Show the reference answer and checks
V3 identifies the imaged face as the back. V1 and V2 associate it with V15 and finish sample S. The traveler names core C2 but the masked edge prevents photo verification; the caption must distinguish the documentary link from what the photo actually shows.
- Assuming the first listed veneer faces the camera
- Reporting the hidden core as visually confirmed

- Separates imagery from traveler evidence
Test another case
Introduce a mirrored back-face photo; use the frame marker, not grain direction, to resolve the face.
Only owned drawings; omit actual supplier grades, press schedules and protected finish references.
Discuss a contribution
Describe the sources you control, the task they could support and what has already been checked. Use the existing-data assessment for an archive or the collection brief for a new recording project. The contributor agreement defines Fiund’s licensing authority and compensation. A guide or fictional exercise does not establish an accepted collection or a sale.
