Seafood wholesale lot split and receiving data for AI
One lot can be divided across several outbound cases.
NAICS 424460 · Fish and Seafood Merchant Wholesalers
One lot can be divided across several outbound cases. GS1’s seafood traceability guideline describes case labels and event data. A wholesaler can create an original test for linking each receiving event to the original lot without exposing supplier or harvest information. GS1 seafood traceability guideline
Make a dummy parent lot with two child shipments. Give one a receipt with a matching parent reference and the other only a common product name. Ask which quantities can be attributed and where the lineage needs review.
Use empty props and invented records. Exclude actual catch locations, shipment data, supplier terms and regulated materials. Keep operational and safety judgments with staff.
Describe a fictional seafood lot split sample
Original Fiund exercise
A confirmed child receipt preserves lot lineage while a shared product name does not
An original parent-lot fixture uses empty cartons and artificial quantities. No seafood, catch site, real shipment, supplier term or food decision appears.
| Record | Source | What it records |
|---|---|---|
| SWRL1 | Parent allocation | Practice lot L split into shipment children A=6 cases and B=4. Split map records expected allocations, not destination receipt. |
| SWRL2 | Child A receipt | Exact A/L link and six cases acknowledged by original mock receiver. |
| SWRL3 | Other receipt | Four cases of same display product name, child and parent fields absent. No approved association to B or L. |
Question for the model
Which received quantity can be traced to L, and can the matching four-case total verify B's destination receipt?
Show the reference answer and checks
SWRL1 and SWRL2 trace six received A cases to parent L. SWRL1 supports B's planned four-case allocation, but SWRL3 lacks its child and parent references. A matching quantity and common product name cannot confirm those four as B's receipt. Preserve the confirmed six-case lineage and pending B evidence rather than claim the full lot was received or infer a real traceability, safety or release outcome.
- Equating a parent split's planned quantity with confirmed destination receipt.
- Matching an unlinked receipt by quantity and display name.
Fields to preserve
- Parent lot and child shipment
- Defines the split.
- Allocated and received case count
- Separates stages.
- Receiver reference and unresolved link
- Supports provenance.
Test another case
Add B's exact receipt for three cases. Require the lineage to resolve and a one-case discrepancy to remain visible.
Use original inert props and invented records. Exclude catch locations, actual shipments and commercial terms.
