Promotional product proof and order data for AI
A promotional product distributor can receive separate approvals for the item color, imprint and packaging.
NAICS 541890 · Other Services Related to Advertising
A promotional product distributor can receive separate approvals for the item color, imprint and packaging. Census includes advertising specialty distribution within this industry. A test using original dummy proofs can show whether software keeps those approvals attached to the right product variation. U.S. Census 2022 NAICS manual
Create two mock keychains using your own shapes and artwork. Approve an imprint for one and record a color substitution for the other. Include a final proof that combines both without a matching approval. Ask which attributes the paperwork supports and which need follow-up.
Use generic samples and original forms. Keep real logos, contracts, price lists, brand guidelines and customer order records out.

Imprint approval does not approve a substituted keychain color
An original geometric emblem appears on two invented keychain variants. Every form and product name is fabricated; no customer mark, supplier pricing or actual purchase order is used.
| Record | Source | What it records |
|---|---|---|
| PP1 | Variant K1 proof | Round keychain, blue body, white triangle imprint. Approval AP1 explicitly covers the triangle's size and placement only. |
| PP2 | Variant K2 change note | Square keychain: proposed body change from gray to green. Color approval field blank; imprint not reviewed. |
| PP3 | Combined proof C | Round green body with the K1 triangle. References AP1 but contains no separate body-color approval. |
Question for the model
Which attribute has an explicit approval, and does combined proof C establish approval for its green body or for K2?
Show the reference answer and checks
PP1 supports the triangle's size and placement on K1 under AP1. PP2 records a proposed green substitution for K2 without an approval. PP3 reuses AP1 on a round green combination, but AP1's stated scope does not cover body color or extend to K2. Preserve the approved attribute and variant together, and request the missing combination and color approvals before describing C as fully approved.
- Treating an imprint sign-off as approval of every attribute on a later proof.
- Transferring approval between round and square variants because they share artwork.
Fields to preserve
- Variant and proof revision
- Identifies the exact physical combination.
- Attribute and approved value
- Limits what the approval supports.
- Approval reference and scope
- Distinguishes a proposal from an authorized change.
Test another case
Add a green-body approval explicitly limited to square K2. C must remain unresolved because it uses the round variant.
Use independently drawn motifs and dummy forms. Exclude customer logos, brand manuals, supplier prices and real order documents.
