Produce wholesale grade, lot and receiving exception data for AI
Two produce lots can arrive in one delivery with different observed condition or quantities.

Two produce lots can arrive in one delivery with different observed condition or quantities. USDA’s PACA resources discuss delivery context, and FDA publishes traceability information for covered foods. A wholesaler can create a fictional receiving reconciliation exercise. USDA PACA good delivery resources · FDA Food Traceability List
Use two dummy lot cards and a receipt that records a shortage for one. Add an observation associated with the other lot and ask which discrepancy the file actually supports. Score lot, receipt count and documentation independently.
Use original props and records. Exclude actual growers, buyer information, routes and product inspections. Leave rejection and quality decisions with staff.
Describe a fictional produce receiving example
Original Fiund exercise
A shortage on one produce lot and a condition note on another are separate exceptions
An original receiving exercise uses empty prop trays and dummy lots. No actual grower, inspection, buyer, route, product rejection or food handling is represented.
| Record | Source | What it records |
|---|---|---|
| PWS1 | Mock order | Lot A expected six cases; lot B expected four cases. Both exact lines in one delivery. |
| PWS2 | Matched receiving | A received five, short one. B received four, no quantity shortfall. Receiver explicitly names both lot IDs. |
| PWS3 | Observation | Original note describes a visible mark on B's training prop. It does not identify A, reduce B count or make a grade/rejection decision. |
Question for the model
Which lot has the documented shortage, which has a separate condition observation, and does the condition note explain the shortage?
Show the reference answer and checks
PWS1 and PWS2 establish that A is short one case while B's four match its order. PWS3 records a B-specific visible mark and does not link it to A's quantity discrepancy. Report the shortage and observed condition as independent exceptions instead of treating a combined delivery as one lot or inferring cause, grade, rejection or payment from the unrelated note. The fixture demonstrates reconciliation, not a real inspection outcome.
- Applying a condition note to the wrong lot or using it to explain an unrelated shortage.
- Treating a combined shipment as a single quantity and quality record.
Fields to preserve
- Order line and lot
- Defines attribution.
- Expected and received count
- Supports shortage arithmetic.
- Condition source and decision scope
- Separates observation from disposition.
Test another case
Add one approved A substitute under a new lot ID. Require the original short count and authorized fulfillment adjustment to remain separately visible.
Use original empty props and fabricated paperwork. Exclude growers and inspections; authorized staff retain quality and rejection decisions.
Discuss a contribution
Describe the sources you control, the task they could support and what has already been checked. Use the existing-data assessment for an archive or the collection brief for a new recording project. The contributor agreement defines Fiund’s licensing authority and compensation. A guide or fictional exercise does not establish an accepted collection or a sale.
