Assisted living nonmedical service preference data for AI

A resident may request a later housekeeping window, while a service schedule and a completion card preserve different information.

A resident may request a later housekeeping window, while a service schedule and a completion card preserve different information. ACL’s Long-Term Care Ombudsman program describes protecting residents’ rights. An invented administrative scenario can test whether software retains the preference without assuming the request was fulfilled. ACL long-term care resident rights resources

Make an original request and two dummy service windows. Add a completion entry dated before the revised preference took effect. Ask which preference applies on the target day and what the available completion record establishes. The reviewer checks timing and attribution.

Use fictional people, no resident footage, room numbers, health data or incident reports. Keep any future reuse separate from authority to operate the service.

Original Fiund exercise

An earlier completion does not fulfill a later effective service preference

A fictional adult service request concerns an abstract housekeeping window. There are no residents, room numbers, care records, incident reports or facility footage.

Fictional records supplied to the evaluator
RecordSourceWhat it records
AL1Original preferenceFictional request R: morning window W1 through day 4.
AL2Approved revisionR changes to afternoon window W2 effective day 5. Approval explicitly names R; no service-completion statement.
AL3Completion cardService C completed under R/W1 on day 3. Day-6 schedule lists W2 but completion field blank.

Question for the model

Which preference applies on day 6, and what does the available completion card establish about fulfilling it?

Show the reference answer and checks

AL2 establishes W2 as R's applicable preference from day 5, including day 6. AL3's completed C belongs to day 3 under the earlier W1 preference and cannot prove fulfillment of the later W2 request. The day-6 schedule shows intended service but no completion evidence. Preserve the current preference and historical completed service separately, and leave day-6 fulfillment unconfirmed rather than infer it from scheduling.

  • Using a completion before a preference revision as fulfillment afterward.
  • Treating a scheduled window or approved request as proof that service occurred.

Fields to preserve

Request alias and preference version
Defines the stated choice.
Effective day and service window
Selects the applicable preference.
Completion target, date and status
Documents fulfillment only when linked.

Test another case

Add a day-6 completion at W1 instead of W2. Require a documented mismatch, not a silent change to the requested preference.

Use invented adults and original forms. Exclude actual resident details and care information; authority to operate a service does not itself authorize future data reuse.
