What it is worth

Why your quote is lower than the headline numbers

A corporate deal total, a dataset selling price and an owner’s payment are different measures. Compare their scope and denominators before using a headline as a negotiating benchmark.

The short version

  1. A pooled percentage needs both revenue and allocation information.
  2. Prepared-dataset prices may include collection and annotation work.
  3. A sample review can identify source or rights gaps, but cannot guarantee a higher offer.

Published examples and terms

Each example describes the named source and its stated scope. These are not Fiund prices or guaranteed individual payouts.

Allocation depends on included recordingsLANDR pro-rata example

The share of the pool depends on recordings included relative to the dataset; it is not a fixed payment per track.

Check the unit

Is the number a whole contract, an annual amount, a finished dataset price or an individual share? Record the term and included work with it.

Improve the evidence

An organized inventory, relevant originals and clear permission records make an assessment more useful. They do not establish demand or a minimum sale price.

Limits to the comparison

A lower offer is not proof of unfair treatment, and a large headline is not proof your archive should receive the same rate. Ask for the scope and calculation rather than relying on an unsupported multiplier.

Useful records

  • Source records. A pooled percentage needs both revenue and allocation information.

Gaps and limits to review

  • Limits to the comparison. A lower offer is not proof of unfair treatment, and a large headline is not proof your archive should receive the same rate. Ask for the scope and calculation rather than relying on an unsupported multiplier.

What Fiund quotes, and what it does not

The examples concern the named providers, agreements or disclosures. Fiund confirms availability, permitted use, preparation and price for a reviewed collection. The payouts page and contributor agreement explain its compensation terms.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a Fiund price or a guaranteed payout?

No. Published examples describe the named provider or agreement. Fiund scopes each collection and buyer license separately; an example does not establish demand or a payout for your archive.

What should I check before using this example?

A sample review can identify source or rights gaps, but cannot guarantee a higher offer.
