What it is worth
What to review before valuing an archive
A useful archive assessment starts with source fit, licensing authority, usable originals and supporting records. There is no evidence-based universal ranking that turns those factors into a price.
The short version
- State what model task the material could support.
- Document the authority to grant the proposed use, rather than relying on possession alone.
- Separate recorded quantity from usable, permitted quantity.
Published examples and terms
Each example describes the named source and its stated scope. These are not Fiund prices or guaranteed individual payouts.

Make the source inspectable
Use a representative sample and inventory to describe formats, speakers or subjects, conditions and exclusions. Record uncertainty rather than replacing it with an optimistic hour count.
Use provider requirements precisely
LANDR’s program requires qualifying music rights; Shutterstock’s allocation considers included content and metadata. Those are program-specific examples, not proof that all archives are valued the same way.
Limits to the comparison
Unpublished material is not automatically scarce or valuable, and public availability does not establish whether it was used in training. A buyer’s actual task and the proposed permissions still need review.
Useful records

What Fiund quotes, and what it does not
The examples concern the named providers, agreements or disclosures. Fiund confirms availability, permitted use, preparation and price for a reviewed collection. The payouts page and contributor agreement explain its compensation terms.

Frequently asked questions
Is this a Fiund price or a guaranteed payout?
No. Published examples describe the named provider or agreement. Fiund scopes each collection and buyer license separately; an example does not establish demand or a payout for your archive.
What should I check before using this example?
