NAICS 321911 · Wood Window and Door Manufacturing

NFRC describes ratings for window, door and skylight products. A manufacturer's data sample can test whether a model attaches a recorded rating to the exact configuration named in an order. NFRC product-rating FAQ

Create a fictional wood-window order, a component list and an original rating index. Give two configurations the same frame size but different glazing references. Ask the assistant which index entry is supported by the executed component list. Include a replacement glazing proposal that was never approved and a photograph whose label is partially hidden by protective wrapping.

Label frame configuration, glazing reference, order revision and source evidence separately. Reserve a new product-family name for evaluation. Score using a component value as a whole-product value, selecting an unexecuted substitution and inferring an unreadable label independently. The reference key should state exactly which configuration the supplied record concerns.

Use self-authored examples and invented performance values. Actual test reports, certification marks and customer drawings need appropriate authorization and an accurate representation of their status. A contributor proposal should identify the configuration-matching task and reviewed cases. Confirm the buyer's data requirements before exporting a commercial product archive or expanding capture.

Original Fiund exercise

A catalog reference with the wrong opening mode

Original sketches and a fictional configuration index describe two window samples. The index contains no actual ratings.

Fictional records supplied to the evaluator
RecordSourceWhat it records
W1Mock orderSeries L, opening mode awning, glazing option G2.
W2Index entry I10Series L, fixed, G2; evidence stub present.
W3Index entry I11Series L, awning, G1; evidence stub present.
W4Index noteNo evidence stub exists for Series L awning G2.

Question for the model

Can either index entry substantiate the requested combination?

Show the reference answer and checks

Neither entry matches all configuration keys in W1. I10 in W2 matches the glazing but uses a fixed opening. I11 in W3 matches awning operation but uses G1. W4 explicitly leaves the exact combination without an evidence stub.

  • Joining a rating reference by series only
  • Combining two partial matches into nonexistent test evidence

Fields to preserve

opening_mode
Prevents fixed-to-operable evidence transfer
glazing_option
Disambiguates configurations within a mode
configuration_evidence
Requires the tested combination to match as a whole

Test another case

Add an index entry that covers a documented configuration range; ask whether the requested option falls inside its declared scope.

No actual efficiency ratings, installations, certification claims or customer orders.

Discuss a contribution

Describe the sources you control, the task they could support and what has already been checked. Use the existing-data assessment for an archive or the collection brief for a new recording project. The contributor agreement defines Fiund’s licensing authority and compensation. A guide or fictional exercise does not establish an accepted collection or a sale.
