Vehicle wholesale allocation and carrier handoff data for AI

A wholesale transfer can be allocated before the carrier accepts it.

A wholesale transfer can be allocated before the carrier accepts it. NHTSA provides vehicle identifier resources, and Scale lists logistics and retail-related workflows in its data partnership. A distributor can show how it links separate records before discussing a scoped export. NHTSA VIN decoder · Scale Data Partnerships

Make an invented allocation of three units and a carrier receipt for two. Put the third on a corrected record under a second transfer ID. Ask what the original carrier acknowledged and where custody remains unconfirmed. Grade both the count and event source.

Use invalid unit IDs and original forms. Exclude real VINs, dealer agreements, customer details, routes and inventory exports from the pilot.

Describe a fictional vehicle handoff sample

Original Fiund exercise

Allocation of three units is distinct from carrier acknowledgment of two

An original wholesale-transfer fixture uses invalid unit aliases and two invented transfer references. No actual VIN, dealer term, route, customer or inventory export is included.

Fictional records supplied to the evaluator
RecordSourceWhat it records
VWH1Initial allocationTransfer T1 allocates dummy units A, B and C. Allocation plan has no custody acknowledgment.
VWH2Carrier receiptOriginal acknowledgment explicitly lists T1/A and T1/B only. No C field or aggregate acknowledgment beyond those two.
VWH3Approved correctionMoves C's planned allocation from T1 to T2. No carrier receipt for T2/C supplied; correction changes planning record only.

Question for the model

What did the T1 carrier acknowledge, and which evidence is missing for the reallocated third unit?

Show the reference answer and checks

VWH2 documents carrier acknowledgment for A and B under T1, two units. VWH1 originally allocated C there, but VWH3 moves its plan to T2 without a matched carrier receipt. C remains planned under T2 with custody unconfirmed. Preserve allocation version and receiving-event scope rather than count three acknowledged from the initial plan or carry T1's partial receipt to another transfer.

  • Equating an allocation plan with carrier acceptance.
  • Applying the original transfer's acknowledgment to a reallocated unit under a different ID.

Fields to preserve

Transfer and invalid unit alias
Defines scope.
Original/revised allocation
Preserves planning history.
Carrier acknowledgment and unconfirmed unit
Limits custody claims.

Test another case

Add a T2 receipt for C with an ambiguous full-unit field. Require transfer identity to match while exact unit custody remains unresolved.

Use original fictitious records only. Exclude VINs, agreements, routes and actual inventory data.
