Two toy editions can have different contents or warnings while using a familiar brand name. CPSC publishes labeling guidance, and GS1 explains package levels. A distributor can test whether software applies the right original proof to the shipment. CPSC labeling requirements overview · GS1 US packaging levels

Draw two practice product labels and a case manifest. Attach an earlier warning proof to a current dummy edition and add a carton with an unclear unit count. Ask which evidence belongs to each edition and where validation is missing.

Use original artwork and empty props, with no children, actual merchandise records or licensed character art. Keep safety decisions with authorized staff.

Original Fiund exercise

An older proof cannot establish the current edition's warning text or case quantity

Two original dummy editions use empty boxes and abstract warning codes. No children, real merchandise, licensed characters, safety instruction or compliance conclusion appears.

Fictional records supplied to the evaluator
RecordSourceWhat it records
TWP1Edition mapOriginal E1 approved proof names text code W1 and six pieces per case. Current E2 approved proof names W2; case-size field in E2 is not supplied.
TWP2Shipment imageCarton shows readable E2 identifier, warning region occluded, unit count unclear. Attached proof explicitly says E1/W1.
TWP3Manifest draftCalls E2 carton W1 and six units from the E1 attachment. No exact case conversion or direct E2 warning observation.

Question for the model

What warning text is documented for E2, and can the attached proof or image establish its applied text and case quantity?

Show the reference answer and checks

TWP1 supports W2 as E2's approved abstract text code. TWP2 identifies the carton as E2 but hides the applied warning and count fields. The attached E1/W1 proof supplies neither for E2, so TWP3's copied warning and six-unit count are unsupported. Preserve approved proof, observed text and package conversion separately, requesting exact E2 evidence. The fixture does not validate an actual warning, compliance or product safety.

  • Applying an older edition's warning proof to a current carton.
  • Transferring case count between editions without a current packaging basis.

Fields to preserve

Edition and approved proof
Defines the version.
Observed label visibility and text
Supports image evidence.
Case conversion and unresolved source
Limits completeness.

Test another case

Reveal W2 on the current carton while count stays obscured. Require warning-text match to resolve independently of quantity.

Use original empty boxes and abstract text codes. Exclude children, licensed artwork and actual merchandise; authorized staff retain safety decisions.

Discuss a contribution

Describe the sources you control, the task they could support and what has already been checked. Use the existing-data assessment for an archive or the collection brief for a new recording project. The contributor agreement defines Fiund’s licensing authority and compensation. A guide or fictional exercise does not establish an accepted collection or a sale.
