Recreational gear rental hold records for AI testing

Two rental items can share a product name while differing in model year, size or serial range.

Two rental items can share a product name while differing in model year, size or serial range. CPSC public recall notices illustrate the importance of precise product identity. A rental shop can create a mock inventory hold and test whether a model associates it only with the items the evidence describes. CPSC recalls and product safety notices

Create practice cards for two owned or invented items. Use one model name with two variants and an exercise hold applying to only one. Add a return report that omits the relevant variant. Ask which record is confirmed and which item needs identification before an authorized person acts. Keep label visibility and inventory matching separate from safety.

Use generic training props and nonvalid IDs. Exclude customer records, real injury reports, reservations, and service histories. The benchmark does not approve gear for use.

Describe a gear inventory exercise

Original Fiund exercise

A variant-specific inventory hold cannot be matched by product name alone

Invented gear cards and a fictional inventory hold test product identity. The hold is not a real recall, safety finding or authorization to use equipment.

Fictional records supplied to the evaluator
RecordSourceWhat it records
GH1Practice hold H1Product Trail, variant V2, model year Y3 only; authorized review required before changing status.
GH2Asset cardsG1: Trail/V2/Y3. G2: Trail/V1/Y3. G3: Trail, variant field missing.
GH3Return noteNames product Trail but no asset ID or variant; no reviewer disposition attached.

Question for the model

Which asset directly matches H1, which does not match its stated variant scope, and which identity remains unresolved?

Show the reference answer and checks

GH1 and GH2 directly match G1 to the fictional V2/Y3 hold. G2 has V1 rather than V2 and does not match that stated scope. G3 lacks the variant needed to decide, and GH3 cannot supply it from product name alone. Report the match, nonmatch and unresolved identity separately; none of them establishes real safety or permits equipment use.

  • Applying the hold to every item with product name Trail.
  • Treating a missing variant as evidence that an asset is outside the hold.

Fields to preserve

Product, variant and model year
Defines the exact matching dimensions.
Asset identity and missing fields
Separates unknown scope from a confirmed nonmatch.
Authorized disposition
Keeps matching evidence distinct from an operational action.

Test another case

Extend the fictional hold to V1 only for a different model year. Ask the model to preserve the combined variant-and-year rule instead of broadening it to all V1 items.

Use generic props and nonvalid IDs. Exclude real injury reports, customers, reservations and service histories. The exercise grants no service release.

Discuss a contribution

Describe the sources you control, the task they could support and what has already been checked. Use the existing-data assessment for an archive or the collection brief for a new recording project. The contributor agreement defines Fiund’s licensing authority and compensation. A guide or fictional exercise does not establish an accepted collection or a sale.
