A carrier status that says delivered may show receipt at a private mail center while the item is still awaiting collection. USPS describes the commercial mail receiving agency role. A mailbox operator can turn the difference between carrier receipt and customer pickup into a document matching exercise. USPS Commercial Mail Receiving Agencies

Make a practice parcel with a nonfunctional label. Pair the carrier event with a shelf entry, a notice and a pickup record. Create a second parcel with a similar dummy reference and no pickup record. The reviewer should require an exact match and an authorized fictional recipient role before marking either parcel collected.

Use prop packaging and a fictional address format. Keep postal authorization records, real addresses, tracking codes and identification documents out. Confirm permission before using another party’s label artwork or document layout.

Describe a mock mail-center receipt sample

Original Fiund exercise

Carrier delivery to a mail center is not customer pickup

Prop parcels use nonfunctional labels and an invented address format. There are no actual tracking codes, postal authorizations, IDs or customers.

Fictional records supplied to the evaluator
RecordSourceWhat it records
PM1Parcel A sequenceCarrier event says delivered to mock center C for A. Shelf entry S-A and customer notice N-A explicitly reference A.
PM2Pickup recordOriginal fictional pickup P-A names A and authorized exercise recipient role REC-A; exact match supplied.
PM3Parcel A2 sequenceCarrier delivery, shelf entry and notice name A2. No pickup record. Copy of P-A attached, still naming A rather than A2.

Question for the model

Which parcel has documented collection, and what state does carrier-delivered A2 actually reach in the supplied sequence?

Show the reference answer and checks

PM1 and PM2 trace A from center receipt through shelf and notice to an exact authorized-role pickup record. PM3 supports A2's delivery to the center and notice, but its copied A pickup does not establish A2 collection. Report A2 as received at the center with pickup unconfirmed, rather than interpreting carrier delivered as customer possession. Preserve the distinct parcel IDs and recipient-role evidence.

  • Equating carrier delivery to a receiving center with customer pickup.
  • Applying a similar parcel's pickup record without an exact target and recipient-role match.

Fields to preserve

Inert parcel alias and carrier event
Defines center receipt.
Shelf and notice references
Tracks intermediate stages.
Pickup target and authorized role
Supports collection.

Test another case

Add an A2 pickup signed by a role not authorized in the exercise. Require identity matching to resolve while authority remains a review exception.

Use original prop labels and forms. Exclude addresses, valid tracking codes and identification documents; clear any third-party design rights separately.

Discuss a contribution

Describe the sources you control, the task they could support and what has already been checked. Use the existing-data assessment for an archive or the collection brief for a new recording project. The contributor agreement defines Fiund’s licensing authority and compensation. A guide or fictional exercise does not establish an accepted collection or a sale.
