Parking garage space status and signage records for AI

A garage map can show a space even after a temporary closure changes current availability.

A garage map can show a space even after a temporary closure changes current availability. The Department of Justice describes accessibility requirements for parking. An operator can build a fictional mapping task that preserves accessibility labels without asking the model to assess compliance. DOJ accessible parking guidance

Draw an original garage diagram with dummy space IDs and dated closure records. Match a temporary sign photo to one space. Give a second closure notice an expired end time and no current observation. Ask which space is confirmed closed and what the available records say about alternatives. Score label preservation and effective dates independently.

Use fabricated layouts or approved close-up props. Keep plates, license images, ticket identifiers, entry security details and customer data out.

Describe a fictional parking status sample

Original Fiund exercise

An expired closure does not by itself verify a space as available

An original paper garage map uses dummy spaces and a preserved accessibility label. The exercise makes no actual parking, access or legal-compliance recommendation.

Fictional records supplied to the evaluator
RecordSourceWhat it records
PG1Practice mapSpace A has accessibility label X; space B ordinary label Y. No live occupancy information.
PG2Current closureA closed days 2–5; matching sign photo explicitly names A. Requested day is 4.
PG3Old B noticeB closure ended day 3. No current observation, reopening confirmation or occupancy record supplied.

Question for the model

Which space has a supported active closure on day 4, and what does B's expired notice establish about current availability?

Show the reference answer and checks

PG2 supports A's active day-4 closure with a matching sign reference, while PG1's accessibility label remains part of its map identity. PG3's B notice has expired, but the packet supplies no current availability or occupancy observation. Report expiration rather than asserting B is vacant, usable or an equivalent accessible alternative. Keep map classification, closure interval and observed availability separate.

  • Treating an expired closure as a verified available-space observation.
  • Dropping the accessibility label or declaring B an equivalent alternative without evidence.

Fields to preserve

Space and map label
Preserves the classification being referenced.
Closure effective interval
Defines the active notice.
Current observation availability
Distinguishes absence of an active notice from a verified state.

Test another case

Provide a current B observation showing occupied while its old closure remains expired. Require both facts without changing the historical notice.

Use fabricated layouts and approved sign props. Exclude plates, licenses, tickets, entry-security details and customers.
