Contract packaging label application and verification data for AI
An approved artwork file says which label should be used.
NAICS 561910 · Packaging and Labeling Services
An approved artwork file says which label should be used. An image or scan from a specific carton shows what the packing line actually applied. GS1 standards describe identifiers and event representations for logistics units. A contract packager can use mock cartons to evaluate whether a model links those different records correctly. GS1 General Specifications · GS1 EPCIS
Create two original label revisions with an obvious dummy variant code and apply one to a blank carton. Pair the photo with the job’s approved revision and a scripted line check. Include a mismatch with a plausible appearance. Ask the reviewer to cite the carton identifier, approved revision and observed revision in separate fields.
Use inert codes and generic artwork. Keep real client artwork, product claims, customer orders and production serials out. Confirm who can license the label design and inspection images.

Original Fiund exercise
Approved artwork and an observed carton label are different evidence sources
Blank cartons carry original generic artwork and inert codes. No client design, product claim, production serial or live packing-line operation is included.
| Record | Source | What it records |
|---|---|---|
| PL1 | Job J approval | Approved artwork revision V2, dummy variant BLUE, for carton C1. V1 RED explicitly superseded for J. |
| PL2 | Carton C1 view | Original reviewer annotation reads applied label V1/RED on C1. Scripted line-check card cites J but repeats the approved V2 value without an observed-label field. |
| PL3 | Carton C2 view | Applied V2/BLUE visible, but C2 belongs to different job J2. No C1 relationship. |
Question for the model
What label was approved and what was observed on C1, and can the line-check card or C2 image remove the mismatch?
Show the reference answer and checks
PL1 approves V2/BLUE for J/C1, while PL2 observes V1/RED applied to that same carton, documenting a revision and variant mismatch. The line-check card copies the approved value but supplies no separate observed-label evidence. PL3 belongs to J2/C2 and cannot show what C1 carried. Preserve approved and observed values in separate fields rather than silently replace the visual finding with the intended artwork.
- Reporting approved artwork as if it were the label observed on the carton.
- Using another job's correctly labeled carton to close the selected carton's mismatch.
Fields to preserve
- Job and carton alias
- Defines the inspection target.
- Approved artwork revision and variant
- Records intended state.
- Observed label and reviewer source
- Supports the actual comparison.
Test another case
Add a C1 relabeling clip with its own later timestamp and reviewed V2 label. Require the earlier mismatch and later correction to remain distinct events.
Use owned props and original designs. Clear design and inspection-image rights separately; exclude real claims, orders and serials.
