Industrial mold data for AI insert and cavity revisions

Industrial molds form a defined Census manufacturing category.

NAICS 333511 · Industrial Mold Manufacturing

Industrial molds form a defined Census manufacturing category. A contributor can create a precise task around the insert revision installed in a particular cavity and the inspection record that concerns it. Census industrial mold scope

Draw a fictional two-cavity mold diagram with replaceable inserts and a component traveler. Change one cavity's insert while leaving the other on its original revision. Ask the assistant which inspection references apply to each cavity. Include an overall assembly drawing updated later and a purchased replacement with no installation entry.

Annotate mold, cavity, insert, installation event, drawing revision and specimen reference. Hold out an unfamiliar cavity layout for evaluation. Score a global drawing revision applied to every installed insert, purchasing treated as installation and wrong-cavity reports independently. The key should preserve the mixed configuration when the execution records establish it.

Use original drawings and harmless props. Customer tooling geometry, licensed designs, proprietary process information and outside inspection reports need explicit authority. A licensing brief should identify the cavity-history task and qualified review. Confirm buyer requirements before preparing commercial tooling records or commissioning more capture.

Original Fiund exercise

A revision belongs to one cavity slot

An original two-cavity paper sketch depicts swappable inserts. No actual molding operation is described.

Fictional records supplied to the evaluator
RecordSourceWhat it records
1Tool mapCavity A uses insert I7; B uses I8.
2Revision noteReplace I8 with I9 in B only starting lot 15.
3TravelerLot 16 lists A/I9 and B/I8.

Question for the model

Which traveler entries disagree with the effective map?

Show the reference answer and checks

Both do. Record 2 changes only B, so record 1 still calls for A/I7. Lot 16 is after effectivity and should list B/I9. Record 3 instead places I9 at A and retains the superseded I8 at B.

  • Applying the replacement to the wrong cavity
  • Treating the presence of I9 somewhere as sufficient

Fields to preserve

cavity_slot
Scopes each component
lot_effectivity
Determines when a replacement applies
installed_insert
Records actual placement by slot

Test another case

Use a corrected traveler with both cavities sharing an insert number but separate physical IDs; distinguish type from instance.

No real mold designs, settings, tolerances or manufacturing procedure.

Discuss a contribution

Describe the sources you control, the task they could support and what has already been checked. Use the existing-data assessment for an archive or the collection brief for a new recording project. The contributor agreement defines Fiund’s licensing authority and compensation. A guide or fictional exercise does not establish an accepted collection or a sale.
