NAICS 333131 · Mining Machinery and Equipment Manufacturing

Mining machinery covers several equipment types within the Census classification. A contributor can define a focused document task around a replaceable module and the history that connects it to a completed machine. Census mining-machinery scope

Write a fictional machine register, module assembly traveler and inspection index. Replace one module reference during production while retaining the earlier parts list. Ask the assistant which inspection record supports the completed configuration. Include a similar module with the same nominal interface but a different serial reference, plus a proposed replacement that was canceled.

Annotate machine, module, serial reference, assembly event, inspection date and document status. Evaluation can use a new identifier scheme and a split module history. Score matching by nominal interface alone, using the canceled replacement and selecting an earlier configuration's result independently. The key should identify the exact evidence linking module and machine.

Use self-authored forms and invented references without operating equipment. Customer mine information, licensed designs, proprietary production records and outside inspection documents require appropriate permissions. Explain the configuration-history task and independent key in the licensing brief. Confirm buyer requirements before preparing a larger commercial archive or commissioning new capture.

Original Fiund exercise

A prior module report survives a module replacement as history

An invented heavy-equipment register contains neutral serials only. No site or operational details appear.

Fictional records supplied to the evaluator
RecordSourceWhat it records
1Assembly historyUnit M4 originally used module A17; replaced with A22 Tuesday.
2Inspection indexReport R4 for A17 Monday; no A22 report.
3QueryFind the module evidence applicable to Wednesday's configuration.

Question for the model

Which report should the reviewer attach to the current module?

Show the reference answer and checks

None in the packet. Wednesday's module is A22 under record 1. R4 in record 2 applies to the removed A17 and stays historical for M4. The same base machine identifier in record 3 does not transfer inspection evidence to the replacement.

  • Carrying a removed module's inspection forward
  • Dropping replacement history from current configuration

Fields to preserve

module_serial
Distinguishes physical instances
installed_interval

inspection_subject
Pins report to inspected module

Test another case

Return A17 to M4 after a later event; distinguish reinstallation from evidence of a fresh inspection.

No mine locations, real fleet records, equipment service guidance or safety claims.

Discuss a contribution

Describe the sources you control, the task they could support and what has already been checked. Use the existing-data assessment for an archive or the collection brief for a new recording project. The contributor agreement defines Fiund’s licensing authority and compensation. A guide or fictional exercise does not establish an accepted collection or a sale.
