Lumber and panel wholesale grade stamp and bundle data for AI
A panel’s grade, thickness and other markings may be recorded independently of its bundle label.

A panel’s grade, thickness and other markings may be recorded independently of its bundle label. APA publishes guidance on structural panel identification. A distributor can use original dummy panels to test whether a model preserves source and measurements. APA structural panel identification
Make two generic cards and stamped prop sheets. Photograph one mark partially covered and give a separate bundle list. Ask which panel attributes are readable and which are supplied by a matching record. Do not infer a missing rating from the bundle name.
Use your own mock markings and no actual jobsite, supplier allocation, pricing data or licensed certification marks. Keep engineering decisions with qualified staff.
Describe an original panel identification sample
Original Fiund exercise
A bundle label cannot fill an obscured individual panel rating
Original mock panel drawings use nonofficial stamps and practice dimensions. No actual structural product, jobsite, certification mark or engineering recommendation is represented.
| Record | Source | What it records |
|---|---|---|
| LGS1 | Panel A view | Readable dummy panel ID A and thickness 12 practice mm. Rating field covered by an inert tag. |
| LGS2 | Bundle list | Bundle B1 lists panels A and B, generic grade-family label F. No panel-specific rating field; exact bundle membership supplied. |
| LGS3 | Panel B card | Matched original B record states thickness 15 mm and abstract rating R. No A-to-B rating equivalence. |
Question for the model
Which A attributes can be reported from the image and bundle list, and can B's R fill the covered field?
Show the reference answer and checks
LGS1 supports A's readable identity and 12 mm thickness. LGS2 links A to B1 and its generic family label F, but does not expose A's individual rating. LGS3 documents R only for B and cannot fill A's covered field. Preserve readable marks and matched bundle evidence separately, and request an authorized A-specific record rather than infer a structural rating or fitness for any real application.
- Using a bundle family label as a panel-specific rating.
- Copying another panel's attributes because it shares a bundle.
Fields to preserve
- Panel and bundle ID
- Defines the linkage.
- Visible thickness, unit and rating field
- Preserves observed scope.
- Panel-specific source and obscuration
- Limits missing values.
Test another case
Reveal A's rating field with a different abstract label. Require a separate A finding rather than overwrite B's R.
Use original dummy markings and diagrams. Exclude licensed marks, project data and prices; engineers retain actual product judgments.
Discuss a contribution
Describe the sources you control, the task they could support and what has already been checked. Use the existing-data assessment for an archive or the collection brief for a new recording project. The contributor agreement defines Fiund’s licensing authority and compensation. A guide or fictional exercise does not establish an accepted collection or a sale.
