NAICS 423390 · Other Construction Material Merchant Wholesalers

A distributor can carry materials with similar product descriptions but different declarations, batch references and supplier documents. Census provides the scope for construction material wholesale categories. Build a dummy supply packet that tests document attachment and version retrieval. U.S. Census NAICS manual

Use two fictional construction material pallets and a declaration that references only the second batch. Add a packing slip for the first and a newer but unsigned record. Ask which documents belong to each pallet and which claims require an authorized source. Score batch, date and version.

Use independently written forms and inert props. Keep private bids, test reports, real customer records and regulated materials outside the exercise.

Describe an original batch declaration sample

Original Fiund exercise

A declaration for one batch does not support a similar pallet's claims

Two inert mock pallets have independently written packing slips and abstract declarations. There are no actual test reports, bids, construction materials, customer or certification result.

Fictional records supplied to the evaluator
RecordSourceWhat it records
CTW1Pallet A packetPacking slip S-A names dummy batch A and generic description M. No reviewed declaration references A.
CTW2Pallet B packetApproved original declaration D-B v1 explicitly names batch B and abstract claim C. Pallet B's tag matches that batch.
CTW3Newer draftD-B v2 proposes claim D, unsigned and not approved. Folder draft copies C to A because both descriptions say M.

Question for the model

Which documents apply to A and B, and which claims are unsupported by the exact batch and approval evidence?

Show the reference answer and checks

CTW1 supplies A's packing association but no approved declaration. CTW2 matches C in D-B v1 to B only. CTW3's unsigned v2 does not replace B's approved record, and the shared M description cannot transfer C to A. Preserve packing, declaration scope and review status separately, flagging the missing A source rather than state a real performance or compliance finding from neighboring batch paperwork.

  • Matching declarations by product description instead of batch.
  • Preferring a newer unsigned record over the approved version.

Fields to preserve

Pallet and batch alias
Defines the scope.
Packing versus declaration type
Separates evidence roles.
Version, signature and missing claim support
Limits the result.

Test another case

Add a declaration explicitly covering A and B but effective after the requested date. Require the earlier review to retain its original scope.

Use original forms and inert props. Exclude private bids, actual reports and regulated materials; qualified staff retain technical and compliance decisions.

Describe the sources you control, the task they could support and what has already been checked. Use the existing-data assessment for an archive or the collection brief for a new recording project. The contributor agreement defines Fiund’s licensing authority and compensation. A guide or fictional exercise does not establish an accepted collection or a sale.
