Livestock support service batch records for AI

A service provider and a farm can record the same handoff under different references.

A service provider and a farm can record the same handoff under different references. APHIS publishes sample animal product documentation that shows how identifying fields can matter. A service business can test cross-reference matching without sharing animal details or demonstrating the procedure. APHIS sample documentation · Census Agriculture industries

Make two fictional batch aliases and a cross-reference confirmed for one service request. Add a revision that changes an administrative field for the other. Ask what handoff the records support and where the reviewer needs another document. Use clearly artificial identifiers and no official forms as outputs.

Exclude real genetics, customer and animal records, shipment details, confidential processes and actual health certificates. This exercise never authorizes a service or shipment.

Describe a service records exercise

Original Fiund exercise

An administrative correction does not supply a missing service cross-reference

A fictional service provider and farm use inert batch aliases and original paperwork. No animal procedure, genetic material, shipment or official certificate is involved.

Fictional records supplied to the evaluator
RecordSourceWhat it records
LS1Confirmed crosswalkProvider batch P1 maps to farm batch F1 for request R1, acknowledged by both mock record owners.
LS2Second requestProvider batch P2 references R2, farm card says F2, but no P2-to-F2 crosswalk or receiving acknowledgment supplied.
LS3Administrative revisionR2 contact-role label changed from desk A to desk B. Revision explicitly changes no batch or receiving fields.

Question for the model

Which handoff can be associated across both record systems, and does R2's revision resolve its missing evidence?

Show the reference answer and checks

LS1 explicitly connects P1 and F1 under R1 with the fictional acknowledgments. LS2 lacks the cross-system link and receipt evidence for P2 and F2. LS3 revises only an administrative role label, so it cannot establish that those batches match or that a handoff occurred. Preserve the revision's scope and request the missing association rather than inferring completion from an updated record.

  • Treating administrative activity as proof of a completed service handoff.
  • Joining two batch systems without an approved cross-reference.

Fields to preserve

Request and provider/farm batch aliases
Defines each record namespace.
Crosswalk authority and acknowledgment
Supports the handoff relationship.
Changed administrative field and unresolved state
Limits what the revision establishes.

Test another case

Add an R2 crosswalk without receipt acknowledgment. Require identity matching to resolve while completion remains unconfirmed.

Use independently authored fictional cards. Exclude genetics, animal and customer records, shipments and health certificates; the exercise authorizes no service or shipment.

Discuss a contribution

Describe the sources you control, the task they could support and what has already been checked. Use the existing-data assessment for an archive or the collection brief for a new recording project. The contributor agreement defines Fiund’s licensing authority and compensation. A guide or fictional exercise does not establish an accepted collection or a sale.
