INDUSTRY FIELD GUIDE
Industrial building submittal and installation data for AI
A component can appear in a proposed substitution before it is authorized for installation.
NAICS 236210 · Industrial Building Construction
A component can appear in a proposed substitution before it is authorized for installation. The useful data is the link from a selected item to the submittal revision and later observation. USACE construction quality materials explain the importance of staged quality control. A builder can use a fictional procurement and inspection packet for an AI evidence test. USACE construction quality management materials
Invent two equipment supports with a lookalike product identifier. Give one an accepted submittal and a verified installation view. Give the other a proposed substitution without approval. Ask what is documented and which information a reviewer needs. Add a drawing revision affecting only one support.
Use diagrams or inert props. Do not disclose proprietary equipment details, factory layouts, client plans, safety records, or live production arrangements.
Describe a submittal evidence test
Original Fiund exercise
An accepted submittal and a proposed substitution are different evidence
A fictional procurement packet has supports S1 and S2, lookalike product names and one localized drawing revision. Inert props supply the observations.
| Record | Source | What it records |
|---|---|---|
| IB1 | Accepted submittal A | S1 uses product R-20; S2 uses R-20. Review scope names drawing D2. |
| IB2 | Proposed substitution B | Requests R-20X for S2; approval blank. Drawing D3 updates S1's identifier to S1-A but does not change S2. |
| IB3 | Reviewed prop view | Label R-20 on S1-A, linked to D3 by reviewer. A separate R-20X image has no support identifier. |
Question for the model
What approved-item-to-observation chain is supported, and is R-20X authorized or verified for S2?
Show the reference answer and checks
IB1 authorizes R-20 for S1 under the accepted submittal. IB2 changes S1's drawing identifier to S1-A, and IB3 provides the matching reviewed observation. S2's R-20X remains a proposed substitution without approval. The unassigned image does not prove it was installed at S2. Describe the supported S1-A chain and preserve both S2 approval and observation gaps.
- Treating the proposed substitution as an accepted submittal.
- Applying a drawing revision affecting S1 to S2's product or identity.
Fields to preserve
- Support and product identities
- Separates R-20 from lookalike R-20X.
- Submittal approval state
- Distinguishes a requested change from an accepted one.
- Localized drawing revision
- Records which support the change affects.
- Reviewed installation-view link
- Connects the observation to the named practice support.
Test another case
Approve R-20X for S2 but keep its photo unassigned. Require the answer to resolve product authorization without claiming observed installation.
Use independent diagrams and inert props. Exclude factory layouts, proprietary equipment, client plans, real safety records and production arrangements.
Discuss a contribution
Describe the sources you control, the task they could support and what has already been checked. Use the existing-data assessment for an archive or the collection brief for a new recording project. The contributor agreement defines Fiund’s licensing authority and compensation. A guide or fictional exercise does not establish an accepted collection or a sale.
