Household employment schedule and time evidence for AI

A posted household work schedule can differ from the actual recorded time.

NAICS 814110 · Private Households

A posted household work schedule can differ from the actual recorded time. Federal rules describe recordkeeping for domestic service employment covered by the FLSA. Households can demonstrate the comparison using invented records and an original approval trail. Federal domestic service recordkeeping requirements

Write two fictional schedules and a mock time log. Add a correction for one work period and include an unsigned change for another. Ask the model to calculate only the hours supported by the records and flag the pending change. Have the reviewer verify both the time basis and the approval evidence.

Keep real staff identities, pay records, home layouts, family schedules and recordings inside the home out. The sample evaluates source interpretation and leaves payroll decisions to authorized people.

Original Fiund exercise

A posted schedule does not replace the corrected time log

Invented domestic-work records use neutral role labels and artificial times. The exercise computes documented hours without pay rates, a real home, employee details or payroll advice.

Fictional records supplied to the evaluator
RecordSourceWhat it records
HW1Practice scheduleDay A planned 09:00–13:00; day B planned 09:00–13:00.
HW2Approved time-log correctionDay A actual 09:00–12:00, replacing the initial four-hour entry. Day B approved actual remains 09:00–13:00.
HW3Unsigned requestProposes day B actual until 14:00, but no approved correction or new observation supplied. No breaks recorded in this fictional case.

Question for the model

What total hours are supported by the approved logs, and can the schedule or unsigned request establish nine or eight actual hours?

Show the reference answer and checks

HW2 supports three hours for day A and four for day B, totaling seven approved logged hours under the supplied no-break assumption. HW1's planned eight hours does not override the corrected actual record. HW3 proposes an additional B hour without approval, so nine planned/requested hours or an eight-hour revised total is not established. Keep plans, actual observations and pending corrections distinct; no payroll decision follows.

  • Using scheduled hours instead of an approved actual-time correction.
  • Adding an unsigned requested hour to the supported total.

Fields to preserve

Work period and time basis
Defines which start/end observations are being counted.
Correction authority and supersession
Identifies the current log.
Planned versus approved actual time
Preserves an unconfirmed change separately.

Test another case

Approve B's extension to 14:00 but add a stated half-hour break. Require a fresh calculation from the revised assumptions rather than simply adding one.

Use fabricated schedules only. Exclude staff identities, pay files, household layouts, family schedules and recordings inside an actual home.
