Fuel and convenience store transaction state data for AI

A forecourt authorization and a shop purchase can appear in one receipt while documenting different events.

NAICS 457110 · Gasoline Stations with Convenience Stores

A forecourt authorization and a shop purchase can appear in one receipt while documenting different events. NIST publishes dispenser information, and GS1 explains item identifiers. A fictional exercise can test whether the model preserves what each line establishes. NIST gasoline dispensers · GS1 US product identifiers

Make a dummy authorization, a final measured quantity and a separate purchase of a generic package. Provide a duplicate authorization and ask which records support the finalized totals. Score state, source and units without reproducing payment flows. Include a second record with the same purchase amount but no matching fuel event, so equal amounts alone cannot establish a match.

Use original dummy records. Exclude card details, rewards accounts, live price feeds, customer activity and station security information.

Describe a synthetic forecourt transaction example

Original Fiund exercise

An authorization amount is not a measured quantity or a finalized shop line

An original combined-receipt fixture uses synthetic amounts and an abstract quantity unit. No fuel, payment flow, card, loyalty account, customer or station control is represented.

Fictional records supplied to the evaluator
RecordSourceWhat it records
FPX1Mock authorizationEvent A1 for session S: authorization ceiling 40 practice currency units. Identical A1 export row appears twice; not a finalized charge.
FPX2Finalized S linesSeparate measured item quantity 8 Q-units, finalized amount 24. Shop item P finalized amount 4 with same receipt S, separate line type.
FPX3Other recordReceipt S2 has shop amount 4 and no matched measured-item line. Equal shop amount does not link it to S.

Question for the model

What final quantity and total are documented for S, and should the duplicate authorization or S2's equal shop amount be added?

Show the reference answer and checks

FPX2 supports eight Q-units on S's measured line and a combined finalized amount of 28 practice currency units from 24 plus four. FPX1's 40 is an authorization ceiling; its duplicate event key supplies neither a second authorization nor a finalized charge. FPX3 belongs to S2 and cannot be joined by equal shop amount. Preserve quantity, authorization and each finalized line separately rather than sum all receipt-like numbers.

  • Adding an authorization ceiling or duplicate export to finalized charges.
  • Matching separate receipts by equal amounts instead of exact session and line references.

Fields to preserve

Receipt/session and event key
Preserves identity.
Quantity and line type
Separates measured and shop items.
Authorization versus finalized amount
Supports the correct total.

Test another case

Add a final correction to the shop line only. Require the total to update without changing the measured quantity or reusing the authorization.

Use original dummy records. Exclude live payments, rewards, pricing feeds and station security information.
