A wholesale shipment may include live plants and separate packing materials. APHIS publishes plant import resources. A mock shipment can test whether software distinguishes counted trays from documentation that refers to a specific plant lot. USDA APHIS plant import resources

Use artificial plants and two generic tray cards. Give one tray a matching supplier document, and the second a tag whose suffix is obscured. Ask which quantities and document links are supported. Score plants per tray and lot attribution independently.

Use original forms and inert props. Exclude real suppliers, restricted plant material, farm locations and actual certificates. Leave movement and health decisions with authorized staff.

Original Fiund exercise

Counted trays and plant-lot documentation require separate checks

Two original trays contain artificial plant props and generic packing supports. No living plants, real supplier, restricted material, certificate or movement decision is involved.

Fictional records supplied to the evaluator
RecordSourceWhat it records
FWT1Shipment cardTwo practice trays A and B. Packing supports listed separately and not included in plant count.
FWT2Tray A reviewSix plant props observed, readable lot A1. Original supplier-style card explicitly names tray A/lot A1.
FWT3Tray B reviewFour plant props observed, tag reads B? with final character obscured. No matched B document or approved ID reconstruction supplied.

Question for the model

Which quantities can be counted, and does the incomplete B tag support a matching supplier document?

Show the reference answer and checks

FWT2 and FWT3 support six and four visible plant props across the two trays, ten in total, excluding FWT1's packing supports. A has an exact document link to lot A1. B's count can be observed even though its final lot character and source association remain unresolved. Do not infer lot provenance from a complete quantity count or transfer A's supplier card. This fixture establishes no real plant health, certificate or movement status.

  • Treating complete visible counts as proof of complete lot documentation.
  • Counting packing supports as plants or guessing an obscured lot suffix.

Fields to preserve

Tray ID and count unit
Defines the observation.
Lot visibility and supplier target
Supports provenance.
Packing supports and missing linkage
Separates inventory from documents.

Test another case

Reveal B's lot suffix without adding a supplier record. Require visible lot identity to resolve while document linkage remains absent.

Use artificial plants and original forms. Exclude certificates and real material; authorized staff retain movement and health decisions.
