Flight training simulator debrief data for AI

A debrief can reference an event marker from a previous simulator run.

A debrief can reference an event marker from a previous simulator run. FAA publishes flight training device and certification standards context. A school can test the association between an offline record and an instructor’s fictional observation without teaching flight procedures. FAA flight simulation guidance · FAA airman certification standards

Invent two runs with similar names and different time markers. Give one a verified debrief and the other a note tied to the wrong scenario. Ask what the records support and which association needs instructor review. Score run ID, time alignment and attribution. The model does not operate aircraft or assess pilot readiness.

Use no real flight tracks, aircraft details, trainee records, facility controls or operating instructions. Keep the exercise isolated and artificial.

Describe a simulator evidence exercise

Original Fiund exercise

Align the debrief to the run-specific event marker

An entirely artificial simulator record names abstract scenarios without aircraft procedures. It tests run identity and time alignment, not flight instruction or pilot readiness.

Fictional records supplied to the evaluator
RecordSourceWhat it records
FT1Invented run SIM-AScenario Cloud, marker M4 at elapsed 03:10.
FT2Verified instructor debriefNames SIM-A, Cloud, M4 at 03:10; records fictional observation Z.
FT3Invented run SIM-A2 folderScenario Horizon, marker M4 at 01:20. Attached note repeats SIM-A / 03:10 and has no SIM-A2 amendment.

Question for the model

Which run supports observation Z, and does the similarly named SIM-A2 folder provide a verified debrief for its M4 event?

Show the reference answer and checks

FT2 explicitly supports Z for SIM-A's Cloud marker M4 at 03:10, matching FT1. FT3's SIM-A2 run has a different scenario and marker time. The attachment still names SIM-A, so folder placement and the similar run name do not establish a SIM-A2 debrief. Flag the mismatched run, scenario and time for instructor review without transferring Z or making any readiness judgment.

  • Matching SIM-A and SIM-A2 by a common name prefix.
  • Treating marker M4 as globally unique while ignoring scenario and elapsed time.

Fields to preserve

Exact run and scenario
Disambiguates similar session names.
Marker and elapsed time
Locates the event inside the correct run.
Debrief attribution and amendment
Preserves which source an instructor actually verified.

Test another case

Provide an authorized SIM-A2 debrief with M4 at 01:20 but a different observation. Require separate answers for the two runs rather than merging them into one event.

Use isolated synthetic records. Include no real tracks, aircraft information, trainee records, facility controls or operating instructions.

Describe the sources you control, the task they could support and what has already been checked. Use the existing-data assessment for an archive or the collection brief for a new recording project. The contributor agreement defines Fiund’s licensing authority and compensation. A guide or fictional exercise does not establish an accepted collection or a sale.
