A storewide offer can have department exclusions, effective dates and a separate rule for a specific brand or item class. GDPval includes retail trade tasks, and federal pricing guides provide context on price representations. OpenAI GDPval · FTC Guides Against Deceptive Pricing

Write a fictional sale notice, category map and two product cards. Add an exclusion affecting one item and an older ad that omits it. Ask which offer applies in the exercise and require the source and date. Score eligibility and evidence independently. Add a case where the product was moved to a new department after the offer expired, so the current category alone cannot answer the historical question.

Use invented items, original copy and synthetic amounts. Exclude customer data, loyalty details and commercial promotions.

Describe an original retail offer evaluation

Original Fiund exercise

Historical offer eligibility depends on the product category at the time

An original store exercise uses artificial items, amounts and offer dates. No actual promotion, customer, loyalty record or transaction is represented.

Fictional records supplied to the evaluator
RecordSourceWhat it records
DSO1Approved notice N2Days 1–5 offer applies to department HOME except class STUDIO. Older superseded N1 omits the exception.
DSO2Item A historyOn day 3 item A is HOME/STUDIO. On day 7 it moves to department GENERAL, after the offer expired.
DSO3Item B and review requestB is HOME/STANDARD on day 3. Review asks which item matches N2 on day 3; no actual sale or price posting supplied.

Question for the model

Which item meets the original exercise's day-3 offer conditions, and why do the old ad and A's later department not change that result?

Show the reference answer and checks

DSO1's current N2 governs day three. DSO2 places A in the explicitly excluded STUDIO class then, while DSO3 places B in HOME/STANDARD, meeting the stated fixture conditions. A's day-seven move occurs after the window and cannot revise its historical category. Superseded N1 does not remove the approved exclusion. Report rule fit and source independently without inferring a checkout discount, pricing legality or real transaction outcome.

  • Using a current product category for a historical offer date.
  • Ignoring an exclusion because an earlier advertisement did not include it.

Fields to preserve

Notice revision, period and exclusion
Defines the rule.
Item category at target date
Supports historical matching.
Evidence citation and transaction absence
Limits the result.

Test another case

Move B into STUDIO effective day 4. Require its day-three and day-five matches to differ rather than use a single current class.

Use original copy and invented items. Exclude commercial promotions, identities and loyalty data.

Discuss a contribution

Describe the sources you control, the task they could support and what has already been checked. Use the existing-data assessment for an archive or the collection brief for a new recording project. The contributor agreement defines Fiund’s licensing authority and compensation. A guide or fictional exercise does not establish an accepted collection or a sale.
