Chemical wholesale product identifier and SDS revision data for AI

A safety data sheet can identify a product and revision that differ from a similar catalog item.

A safety data sheet can identify a product and revision that differ from a similar catalog item. OSHA describes safety data sheet sections and the identification field. A distributor can build an original lookup exercise with inert products. OSHA safety data sheet requirements

Invent two generic product names with distinct identifiers and a fictional safety sheet cover page for one. Include an older revision and a mislabeled photo of an empty container. Ask which document the packet supports and what remains to verify.

Use no real chemicals, hazard instructions, formulas, customer records or supplier documents. Leave classification, handling and product release with qualified personnel.

Describe a fictional safety document matching sample

Original Fiund exercise

A safety-document cover must match the exact product and approved revision

Empty inert containers carry original invalid identifiers. The mock cover contains no chemical, hazard classification, handling instruction, formula or actual safety data sheet contents.

Fictional records supplied to the evaluator
RecordSourceWhat it records
SDSW1Product registerFictional products P-A and P-B share display prefix DEMO. Reviewed current cover for P-A is revision R2, explicitly replacing R1.
SDSW2Container A packetReadable P-A tag and attached R2 cover naming P-A. An older R1 cover remains as history.
SDSW3Container B packetPhoto filename says P-A but visible tag reads P-B. Attached cover is P-A/R2; no B-specific cover or approved identity correction.

Question for the model

Which current cover is supported for A, and why does B need a separate product-document check?

Show the reference answer and checks

SDSW1 and SDSW2 match P-A to R2 and preserve R1 as superseded history. SDSW3 conflicts between the filename and B's visible P-B tag, and its attached R2 cover names P-A. Neither the shared prefix nor filename resolves that product mismatch. Request a verified B source and retain the visible discrepancy. This cover-level fixture does not classify hazards, give handling guidance or authorize product release.

  • Selecting a current revision for the wrong product because names look similar.
  • Trusting a photo filename over a conflicting visible identifier or treating a cover match as release approval.

Fields to preserve

Exact product and container tag
Defines identity.
Cover revision and supersession
Selects the current record.
Photo-source conflict and missing cover
Supports escalation.

Test another case

Add a current P-B cover but leave the photo identity conflict unresolved. Require both document and physical-tag association to be checked independently.

Use original inert props and nonofficial covers. Exclude chemicals, formulas and supplier files; qualified staff retain actual safety and release decisions.

Discuss a contribution

Describe the sources you control, the task they could support and what has already been checked. Use the existing-data assessment for an archive or the collection brief for a new recording project. The contributor agreement defines Fiund’s licensing authority and compensation. A guide or fictional exercise does not establish an accepted collection or a sale.
