Appliance retailer model suffix and label records for AI
A product page may display a label from a nearby model in the same family.

A product page may display a label from a nearby model in the same family. FTC provides EnergyGuide labeling guidance. A retailer can build an original comparison with simulated product pages and independently written data. FTC EnergyGuide labeling guidance
Create two dummy appliances with suffixes that differ by one character. Attach a mock label to the wrong product card and preserve the source record. Ask which measured value belongs to each model and where verification is missing. Score model identity, measure and version separately.
Use original product mockups and no actual customer files, manufacturer art or vendor contracts. Keep compliance and recommendation decisions with staff.

One-character model suffixes can point to different labeled measures
Original dummy product pages and nonofficial mock labels use arbitrary annual-use values. No real appliance, manufacturer art, customer file or energy recommendation is represented.
| Record | Source | What it records |
|---|---|---|
| AM1 | Source model cards | Model DEMO-10A: 100 practice kWh/year. Model DEMO-10B: 120. Distinct original source references and matching revision dates. |
| AM2 | Page A | Title DEMO-10A, but attached mock label explicitly names DEMO-10B and 120. No approved model equivalence. |
| AM3 | Page B | Title DEMO-10B with exact matching 120-unit source label. Older file for A lacks a date and is not linked to the current page. |
Question for the model
Which page has a matched model-and-measure source, and what is wrong with attributing the 120 value to Page A?
Show the reference answer and checks
AM1 and AM3 support Page B's DEMO-10B association with 120 practice kWh/year. AM2 attaches B's label to an A-titled page, conflicting with A's separately specified 100 value. Similar model-family names do not make the suffixes equivalent. Flag the model-label mismatch and preserve both sources instead of silently using the attached value or the undated file. The fixture establishes no official label compliance or product-performance recommendation.
- Matching only the shared model prefix while dropping its variant suffix.
- Copying a label's measure to a product page whose model identity differs.
Fields to preserve
- Full model and source revision
- Disambiguates variants.
- Measure, unit and label model
- Supports attribution.
- Page attachment and mismatch state
- Makes the review actionable.
Test another case
Add an A label from a different revision without an equivalence statement. Require revision validation before describing the current page as reconciled.
Use original pages and visibly nonofficial labels. Exclude vendor contracts and art; staff retain compliance and recommendation decisions.
Discuss a contribution
Describe the sources you control, the task they could support and what has already been checked. Use the existing-data assessment for an archive or the collection brief for a new recording project. The contributor agreement defines Fiund’s licensing authority and compensation. A guide or fictional exercise does not establish an accepted collection or a sale.
