INDUSTRY FIELD GUIDE
Window treatment retailer measurement and order basis data for AI
An opening measurement and a finished product width can differ.
NAICS 449122 · Window Treatment Retailers
An opening measurement and a finished product width can differ. CPSC provides window covering safety resources. A retailer can test whether software preserves which dimension a document actually describes using a tabletop frame. CPSC window covering guidance
Draw two frame diagrams and give one an inside-opening width and a separate mock finished dimension. Add an order that transposes the two. Ask what the source supports and which field needs review. Have a human check mounting basis, units and revision.
Use an inert fixture and original drawings. Keep customer homes, addresses, photos and installed control details out. Leave installation and safety advice with qualified people.

An inside-opening width is not the same field as a finished-product width
Two original tabletop frame drawings use fictional units and mount labels. There is no customer home, installed control, product installation or safety advice.
| Record | Source | What it records |
|---|---|---|
| WT1 | Frame A, revision R2 | Inside opening 100 practice mm; separately specified finished product width 95 mm under original dummy order basis. Mount label INSIDE. |
| WT2 | Order draft | A/R2 lists opening 95 and finished width 100, transposing WT1's fields. No authorized dimension or mount change. |
| WT3 | Frame B | Different outside-mount drawing, finished width 100. No A relationship; dimensions share units but not source or mounting basis. |
Question for the model
Which widths does A's current drawing support, and can B's equal dimension justify the draft's transposition?
Show the reference answer and checks
WT1 explicitly assigns 100 mm to A's inside opening and 95 mm to its specified finished width. WT2 transposes those fields without an approved change. WT3's 100 mm belongs to another frame and outside-mount basis, so it cannot justify A's draft. Preserve dimension type, units and revision and flag the order for review rather than infer a universal deduction or supply real installation or safety instructions.
- Swapping opening and finished dimensions because they use the same unit.
- Borrowing a dimension from a different mounting basis or frame.
Fields to preserve
- Frame, revision and mount basis
- Defines the order scope.
- Opening versus finished dimension
- Separates fields.
- Order discrepancy and approval
- Preserves the review gap.
Test another case
Add a newer drawing that changes mounting basis but omits finished width. Require the new field to remain unresolved rather than copy R2's size.
Use original drawings and inert fixtures. Exclude customer homes and installed control details; qualified staff retain installation and safety decisions.
Discuss a contribution
Describe the sources you control, the task they could support and what has already been checked. Use the existing-data assessment for an archive or the collection brief for a new recording project. The contributor agreement defines Fiund’s licensing authority and compensation. A guide or fictional exercise does not establish an accepted collection or a sale.
