How much can you sell egocentric video data for?
Understand egocentric data prices, published examples, accepted recording hours and the difference between collector earnings and a buyer’s dataset licence.

| Source | Published information | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| DataClue catalog | $30/h standard; $40/h complex scenarios; stereo quoted per project | A completed transaction, your net payout or a Fiund rate |
| Figure Index | Creator payment by the minute; no universal dollar rate on the reviewed page | An hourly wage or resale price for existing footage |
| Fiund | Scoped review and written terms for the actual opportunity | A standing purchase price or guaranteed demand |
There is no single verified price for selling egocentric video. An offer depends on the tasks recorded, source quality, usable volume, sensor streams, annotations, permissions and the rights being licensed. A rate paid to record footage is not the same as the price an AI team pays for a finished dataset.
Start by defining the product and billing unit. First-person RGB video, calibrated stereo, video with estimated hand pose and native robot-action demonstrations are different deliverables. Adding a camera does not by itself establish a higher sale price.
What do public prices actually show?

On October 27, 2026, DataClue advertised standard and complex egocentric scenarios at $30 and $40 per hour respectively. These are that vendor’s catalog asking prices, not completed-sale evidence, collector compensation or a Fiund quote. Its stereo and multi-camera offering was quoted per project. The source is linked below.
Figure’s Index page describes creator payment by the minute without publishing one dollar rate applicable to everyone. Those program terms cannot be converted into a general dataset resale rate. Check any current offer in the official program before making an earnings plan.
Define an accepted hour before multiplying a rate
An hour of unique activity is elapsed task time, not the sum of simultaneous camera streams. One hour recorded by four cameras creates four stream-hours but only one hour of activity. Your agreement must say which quantity is billable and whether annotation or idle time is included.
Acceptance matters as much as recording duration. Rejected, duplicate or out-of-scope material may not be payable. Agree the task mix, technical checks, rejection reasons and rework responsibilities before collecting at volume.
Compare gross payment with your actual effort
Hypothetical arithmetic, not a market rate or Fiund offer: 10 recorded hours with 70% accepted at an assumed $10 per accepted hour produce $70 gross. After $20 of expenses and 14 hours of total work, that is about $3.57 net per labor hour.
Include setup, travel, permissions, recording, upload, review and recapture time. An attractive per-video-hour headline may produce a very different return after those costs. Do not buy a rig based only on someone else’s advertised rate.

What can change a buyer’s evaluation?
Task relevance and coverage matter: the environments, objects, operators, sequence lengths and conditions must fit the intended model. Sensor alignment and documented label provenance may be essential for a particular use, but no universal stereo or annotation multiplier is established here.
Provide the best original files you actually have. Mark missing signals as unavailable, and distinguish measured sensor output from model-derived depth or pose. Rights and participant permissions need review alongside the technical package.
Prepare a useful pricing request
List unique activity hours, camera-stream hours, tasks, locations at an appropriate non-sensitive level, original formats, available labels and any calibration or timing files. A representative manifest is more useful than a large unsupported hours claim.
Fiund reviews existing datasets for source quality, permissions and buyer fit. Assessment is not a purchase offer. The applicable agreement defines licensing authority, permitted use, compensation, acceptance and payment timing.
Before the next step
- State whether you are selling existing recordings or offering collection labor.
- Separate activity hours from camera streams.
- Identify asking prices versus actual offers and completed sales.
- Confirm written acceptance and payment terms.
Frequently asked questions
Does Fiund guarantee a purchase or paid assignment?
No. A description is reviewed for fit before a sample, collection scope or licence is agreed. Availability, acceptance, compensation and permitted uses follow the applicable written terms.
