Egocentric data collection pay by program and country
Check dated official program terms, eligibility and billing units without turning unrelated job rates into footage prices.

| Question | Evidence or decision |
|---|---|
| Figure Index | Minute-based description; no universal dollar or country rate verified |
| Scale HFC ML Fellow | US authorization required; project-specific expert pay, not footage rate |
| A country comparison | Actual offer, currency, pay unit, eligibility and acceptance |
| An effective-return estimate | All work hours and costs, not recording duration alone |
No defensible country-by-country egocentric recording rate table was established in the official sources checked for this guide on October 27, 2026. A country label or a global program map does not establish a rate, eligibility or an open assignment for you.
Use the verified examples below to understand what is actually public. They are different kinds of work and should not be averaged into an egocentric footage price. Confirm the current offer directly before recording or buying equipment.
Figure Index: payment unit is public, one dollar rate is not

Figure’s Index page says contributors can receive a recording device and be paid by the minute for tasks. The reviewed page does not state a universal dollar amount applicable to every contributor or country. Check the actual in-app or written offer for eligibility, accepted tasks and payment details.
A country count or aggregate contributor payout does not supply your individual rate. Do not divide marketing totals by uploads or participants to infer a wage; duration, eligibility, acceptance and distribution are not established by that arithmetic.
Scale HFC: a US expert role, not a footage-purchase offer
The reviewed Machine Learning Fellow posting specifies US work authorization and a contractor engagement. It says project rates vary with scope, skills and location and are supplied through project matching. It does not provide a universal egocentric recording rate.
This example concerns expert AI work. Do not relabel its compensation as video collection pay, infer an offer for other countries or treat a role description as evidence that Scale is buying an owner’s existing footage.
How to compare an actual local offer
Record the source URL, check date, country or authorization requirement, task, currency, payment unit and acceptance rules. Preserve the actual offer privately. A public listing may change or close; old screenshots and search snippets do not prove a current opportunity.
Ask whether rates apply to labor time, recorded minutes or accepted activity. Include setup, transfer, permissions, review and possible recapture when estimating effective return. Keep expenses and currency conversion assumptions separate from headline pay.

What to do when terms are missing
Request clarification from the actual program before collecting. Do not fill an empty rate with a rumored number or extrapolate from a different country. A vendor’s dataset asking price is a separate commercial transaction from collector compensation.
Fiund’s collector form records capability for review; it is not an open paid job or a country-specific wage offer. Existing owners should use the dataset assessment path. Neither route guarantees a sale, accepted work or a payment.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use a global payout total to estimate my income?
No reliable individual rate follows from that total.
Does this page list open Fiund collection jobs?
No. Describe capability first; a project and its compensation require agreement.
