An agent’s written quote can refer to a different plan revision from the provider’s confirmation. The FCC’s consumer labels illustrate why plan attributes should stay with their source. An agent can test matching without using customer files or selling a service. FCC broadband label factsheet · Census Information industries

Prepare two fictional offers and one provider approval. Label the effective window, source and service tier. Ask which terms are confirmed and which were only quoted. Include a later promotion that does not apply to the older order. Score offer version, authority and uncertainty separately.

Exclude customer identities, payment information, private commissions and dealer agreements. Use independently authored training labels and keep account activation outside the exercise.

Describe a sales offer records sample

Original Fiund exercise

A current promotion does not amend an earlier approved offer

An original sales-training packet uses fictitious plans and abstract attributes. No customer, payment, dealer contract, commission or account activation appears.

Fictional records supplied to the evaluator
RecordSourceWhat it records
WA1Agent quote Q1Plan Willow revision V1, tier Basic, attribute X; quote effective days 1–10.
WA2Provider approvalExplicitly approves Q1/V1/Basic/X on day 5. Separate quote Q2 names V2/Plus/Y but has no approval.
WA3Promotion day 12New offers use V3/Plus/Z. No amendment or provider confirmation changes Q1 or Q2.

Question for the model

Which offer attributes have provider confirmation, and can the newer quote or promotion establish Plus/Y or Plus/Z for Q1?

Show the reference answer and checks

WA2 explicitly confirms Q1's V1 Basic tier and attribute X on day 5 within WA1's quote window. Q2's V2 Plus/Y remains quoted without approval. WA3 concerns later new offers and supplies no amendment for Q1 or confirmation for Q2. Report quoted, approved and promotional terms separately rather than upgrading an earlier offer by plan name or recency.

  • Applying the latest promotion to an already approved offer without a revision record.
  • Treating an agent's quote as provider confirmation of its attributes.

Fields to preserve

Quote, plan revision and tier
Defines the exact offer.
Source role and authority
Distinguishes agent statement from provider approval.
Effective window and amendment
Makes temporal scope explicit.

Test another case

Add provider approval for Q2 that confirms tier Plus but expressly excludes Y pending review. Require field-specific approval rather than marking every quoted attribute confirmed.

Use independently authored labels and fictitious attributes. Exclude customer identities, payments, commissions, dealer agreements and real account activation records.

Discuss a contribution

Describe the sources you control, the task they could support and what has already been checked. Use the existing-data assessment for an archive or the collection brief for a new recording project. The contributor agreement defines Fiund’s licensing authority and compensation. A guide or fictional exercise does not establish an accepted collection or a sale.
