Transportation equipment wholesale part and release record data for AI

An equipment distributor may receive parts and accompanying documents through several organizations.

An equipment distributor may receive parts and accompanying documents through several organizations. FAA’s voluntary distributor accreditation materials discuss documentation and traceability. A fictional exercise can test whether a model matches a stated release reference to the right package. FAA distributor accreditation resources

Use two inert abstract part shapes and original dummy tags. Give one package a matching reference and the other a transfer record with an incomplete identifier. Ask what each source supports. Score identity and custody separately, and leave actual release and airworthiness decisions to authorized staff.

Keep actual aircraft records, controlled parts, designs, customer data and operational details outside the exercise.

Describe a fictional equipment provenance sample

Original Fiund exercise

Custody can be recorded even when a release reference lacks an exact package match

Two inert original part shapes use invalid package IDs. No aircraft, controlled part, design, actual release document, customer or airworthiness decision appears.

Fictional records supplied to the evaluator
RecordSourceWhat it records
TEW1Package AFull dummy tag DEMO-A1. Original reference R-A explicitly names A1, with a matched receiver custody event.
TEW2Package BTransfer event confirms an empty B prop received. Attached reference says DEMO-B without suffix; B prop tag DEMO-B2.
TEW3Review metadataNo approved B-to-B2 identity map or B2-specific reference. Custody event itself does not assert a technical release.

Question for the model

Which package has exact reference lineage, and what does B's custody event support without the missing suffix?

Show the reference answer and checks

TEW1 links A1 to R-A and its matched custody event. TEW2 supports receipt of the B prop but its incomplete DEMO-B reference does not match full B2 identity without TEW3's missing cross-reference. Preserve physical custody and release-document association as separate states; request a B2-specific source rather than infer it from a partial string. The fixture makes no actual release, certification or airworthiness determination.

  • Using partial package identifiers as exact release-reference matches.
  • Treating a confirmed receiving event as technical release or airworthiness evidence.

Fields to preserve

Invalid package and part alias
Defines the object.
Custody event and reference scope
Separates source types.
Incomplete ID and review state
Limits lineage.

Test another case

Add a B2 reference for another package revision. Require the identifier to match while revision applicability remains open.

Use original inert props and nonoperative records. Exclude aircraft information and controlled parts; qualified staff retain actual release decisions.

Discuss a contribution

Describe the sources you control, the task they could support and what has already been checked. Use the existing-data assessment for an archive or the collection brief for a new recording project. The contributor agreement defines Fiund’s licensing authority and compensation. A guide or fictional exercise does not establish an accepted collection or a sale.
