Spice and extract manufacturing data for AI strength-basis review

Spices and extracts can share a flavor name while differing in form and declared strength.

NAICS 311942 · Spice and Extract Manufacturing

Spices and extracts can share a flavor name while differing in form and declared strength. FDA's food-labeling guide provides public context for ingredient information. A contributor can develop a task that asks which record supports the specific material requested. FDA food labeling guidance

Make fictional records for a whole spice, an extract and a blended flavor preparation. Give the extract a clearly defined exercise strength basis and leave the blend's basis absent. Ask an assistant to select the matching certificate for a customer request and explain why the remaining documents cannot establish equivalence. Include a corrected certificate with the same filename but a new issue date.

Annotate material form, supplier lot, stated basis, version and the source text supporting each association. A held-out set can change the flavor family and move the strength field into a footnote. Score wrong-form substitution, loss of basis and use of the superseded certificate independently. Avoid encouraging the model to infer equivalence from a familiar ingredient name.

Use fictional certificates and clearly defined sample conventions. Actual extraction formulas, supplier terms and customer applications may restrict reuse. A licensing proposal should show the evidence-selection task and qualified reviewer key, then establish the buyer's accepted format and scope before expanding the archive.

Original Fiund exercise

The same flavor name can describe whole material, extract or a blend with an unknown basis

An original document exercise uses invented flavor and strength codes. It contains no actual spice, extraction formula, supplier, customer application or product-use advice.

Fictional records supplied to the evaluator
RecordSourceWhat it records
SES1Requested recordPractice request needs flavor F as EXTRACT, supplier lot X1, strength reported on basis B. Whole and blend forms not accepted as substitutes under this exercise.
SES2Extract certificatesSame filename saved twice: original issue day 1 strength 8 U/B; authorized day-3 correction explicitly supersedes with 9 U/B for X1.
SES3Other formsWhole F card has no strength measure; blend F card says 9 U without basis. Neither names X1 or approved extract equivalence.

Question for the model

Which certificate answers the exact request, and why can't the other forms or original same-name file substitute?

Show the reference answer and checks

SES2's approved day-three correction supports X1 extract at 9 U on B and replaces the earlier eight despite identical filenames. SES1 requires that exact form, lot and basis. SES3's whole material lacks the measure and its blend lacks basis and lot match, so the equal nine is insufficient. Preserve issue version, form and stated units rather than infer equivalence from flavor name or a plausible number.

  • Selecting a superseded record because its filename matches the correction.
  • Substituting a blend or whole form without the requested strength basis.

Fields to preserve

Material form and supplier lot
Defines the requested source.
Strength value, unit and basis
Preserves meaning.
Issue date and supersession
Selects the controlling document.

Test another case

Move the basis into a footnote for another fictional flavor. Require retrieval of the footnote and exact lot rather than infer a default basis.

Use original invented certificates and conventions. Exclude extraction formulas and private supplier terms; no real substitution advice is given.

Discuss a contribution

Describe the sources you control, the task they could support and what has already been checked. Use the existing-data assessment for an archive or the collection brief for a new recording project. The contributor agreement defines Fiund’s licensing authority and compensation. A guide or fictional exercise does not establish an accepted collection or a sale.
