Security patrol incident observation and follow-up data for AI
A guard’s initial observation and a later incident resolution may be recorded by different people.
NAICS 561612 · Security Guards and Patrol Services
A guard’s initial observation and a later incident resolution may be recorded by different people. OSHA’s safety program guidance describes collecting records and investigating incidents. For a dataset, recreate a harmless incident in a fictional venue and evaluate how software attributes each observation. OSHA hazard identification and incident investigation
Write a staged report about a misplaced prop at a mock event. Add an unconfirmed radio note and a later signed closeout from a fictional supervisor. Ask which source supports each fact and whether the record establishes resolution. Include an incident with the same prop description but a different case identifier to test false matches.
Use invented locations, timestamps and staff roles. Keep actual patrol routes, camera views, restricted procedures and security incidents out. If recording reenactments, confirm actor and property rights in writing.
Describe a staged incident evidence sample
Original Fiund exercise
A signed closeout must refer to the same staged incident
A harmless misplaced foam prop at an imaginary venue forms an original incident narrative. No patrol route, camera view, security procedure or actual incident is represented.
| Record | Source | What it records |
|---|---|---|
| SP-O1 | Initial report | Incident I1, prop P found beside marked table T at 14:00. Direct observer role OBS-A records location only. |
| SP-O2 | Radio-style script | Role RADIO-B says 'someone may have returned it' with no confirmation or event ID beyond I1. |
| SP-O3 | Supervisor closeouts | Signed C1 explicitly confirms I1/P returned to storage at 14:20. Another incident I2 has the same prop description but no signed closeout. |
Question for the model
Which source supports the initial location and resolution of I1, and can I2 inherit that resolution?
Show the reference answer and checks
SP-O1 supports I1's observed location at 14:00. SP-O2 is an unconfirmed possibility, while SP-O3's signed C1 explicitly supports I1's documented return at 14:20. I2's matching prop description does not make it the same incident and supplies no linked closeout. Attribute initial observation, uncertain report and later resolution to their distinct sources without inferring facts about a real venue's security or another case.
- Reporting an unconfirmed radio statement as resolved fact.
- Applying a signed closeout across incidents with identical prop descriptions.
Fields to preserve
- Incident and prop ID
- Defines the case.
- Observer role, time and source type
- Preserves attribution.
- Closeout authority and exact reference
- Supports the documented resolution.
Test another case
Replace C1 with an unsigned supervisor draft. Require I1's resolution to return to unconfirmed under the fixture's sign-off rule.
Use invented roles and approved props. Exclude real routes, surveillance and incidents; secure actor and property rights for reenactments.
Discuss a contribution
Describe the sources you control, the task they could support and what has already been checked. Use the existing-data assessment for an archive or the collection brief for a new recording project. The contributor agreement defines Fiund’s licensing authority and compensation. A guide or fictional exercise does not establish an accepted collection or a sale.
