Satellite communications service-window data for AI

A schedule can describe expected service while a verified record describes what was observed.

A schedule can describe expected service while a verified record describes what was observed. FCC satellite communications documents provide industry context. An offline simulation can test time-window matching without supplying live network data. FCC satellite communications context

Use two imaginary service windows and an event summary. Put one update outside the planned period and give it a verified time. Leave another window without an observation. Ask which facts the evidence supports, whether the timestamps can be compared, and what remains unresolved. Do not ask for routing, control, or configuration.

Keep real frequencies, locations, subscriber details, credentials, operational messages and spacecraft or station configurations private. Use artificial values and offline records only.

Describe a synthetic service-window exercise

Original Fiund exercise

A verified observation outside the planned window cannot prove in-window service

An offline paper simulation has imaginary service windows and UTC timestamps. It contains no satellite parameters, routing, frequencies or operational messages.

Fictional records supplied to the evaluator
RecordSourceWhat it records
SW1Practice scheduleWindow A planned 10:00–10:10 UTC; window B planned 11:00–11:10 UTC.
SW2Verified event summaryObservation O1 recorded at 10:12 UTC, explicitly outside A. Status label S applies to O1 only.
SW3Unverified noteSays B looked normal, but supplies no source time, timezone or verifier. No other B observation provided.

Question for the model

What does O1 establish about the planned A interval, and can the note verify B's planned window?

Show the reference answer and checks

SW1 and SW2 place O1 two minutes after A ends. It is a verified observation at 10:12, not evidence covering A's planned 10:00–10:10 interval. SW3 lacks the timing and review needed to associate its statement with B. Report both planned windows separately from observed events, preserving A's in-window evidence gap and B's unresolved note without inferring actual service delivery.

  • Treating a nearby verified event as proof of an entire planned interval.
  • Comparing an untimed note to a UTC window without a source-time reference.

Fields to preserve

Planned window boundaries
Defines the interval being asked about.
Verified observation time and zone
Makes inclusion or exclusion reproducible.
Event-level status scope
Prevents a point observation from becoming interval-wide evidence.

Test another case

Add an observation at exactly 10:10 and specify whether the practice interval includes its end. Require the model to use that declared boundary convention.

Use invented windows and statuses only. Exclude locations, subscribers, credentials, frequencies, spacecraft or station configurations and live network records.
