Beauty salon color swatch and service version data for AI
A swatch can appear different because lighting changed, a different fiber was used or the sample was mislabeled.

A swatch can appear different because lighting changed, a different fiber was used or the sample was mislabeled. FDA publishes hair dye safety information. A salon can use inert swatches and original records to evaluate how an AI system matches a visible result to a service version. FDA hair dyes
Pair two factory-colored practice swatches with dummy version cards. Photograph them under matched lighting, then add one photo under a different light and one with a mismatched card. Ask the model to verify the swatch identifier and indicate when color comparison is unreliable. Score documented version and visual similarity separately.
Use no chemicals or actual client treatments in the exercise. Keep customer photos, formulas and product claims private. Get authorization for any authored diagrams, photographs and original media.

Original Fiund exercise
A swatch's visible color and its documented service version are separate evidence
Factory-colored inert practice fibers have original dummy version cards. The exercise uses no chemicals, treatments, client images or actual formulas.
| Record | Source | What it records |
|---|---|---|
| SWC1 | Matched-light reference | Swatch A/fiber F1 under light L has version card V1. Swatch B/F1 under L has V2. |
| SWC2 | Alternate image | A label readable under different light K; visible hue differs from its L view. |
| SWC3 | Mismatched card image | B label readable but adjacent card says V1. Register still links B to V2; no authorized correction supplied. |
Question for the model
What version does the register support for B, and can A's changed-light appearance or nearby V1 card establish a changed sample or formula?
Show the reference answer and checks
SWC1 supports B's V2 association. SWC3 creates a conflict with the adjacent V1 card, not an authorized replacement for that register. SWC2 identifies A under changed light, so its hue difference does not by itself establish a changed fiber, sample or formulation. Preserve identity, lighting and source-version evidence separately and flag the card mismatch rather than inferring a treatment outcome or formula.
- Treating lighting-induced hue differences as proof of a changed service version.
- Using the nearest card to override a readable swatch ID and its source register.
Fields to preserve
- Swatch and fiber identity
- Defines the material being compared.
- Light and camera conditions
- Makes color comparison limits explicit.
- Version register and conflicting card
- Preserves the source of each label.
Test another case
Use a different fiber type under the same light with a similar hue. Require the model to identify the material-basis difference before comparing apparent results.
Use authorized inert swatches and original photos. Exclude chemicals, clients, formulas, treatment claims and protected product material.
