ARPM provides context for rubber-product manufacturers. A specific molded-mat exercise can make this broad category concrete, with the task defined by an original pattern drawing and record set. ARPM industry context

Create a fictional mat design with different top and reverse patterns, a part register and a mock packing order. Photograph one mat top-side up and another folded so its reverse identifier is hidden. Ask the assistant which visible features match the instruction and which variant association remains unresolved. Include a pattern revision that changes only a small corner feature while retaining the family name.

Annotate face, feature location, variant, drawing revision and evidence view. Hold out a new pattern family for evaluation. Score face reversal, use of the old drawing and variant identity inferred from a broad appearance independently. The key should describe the visible evidence without assigning slip resistance, durability or material composition from the photograph.

Use original patterns, paper props and invented identifiers. Customer designs, licensed logos, proprietary compounds and outside test reports need source-specific permission. A licensing brief should identify the face-and-revision task and independent key. Establish buyer scope before preparing commercial records or a larger manufacturing capture.

Original Fiund exercise

Packaging view cannot resolve a reversed mat

An original paper mat uses contrasting top and reverse designs with an edge marker.

Fictional records supplied to the evaluator
RecordSourceWhat it records
1Part registerModel M3: top has dots; reverse has bars; edge marker attaches to top side.
2Packing instructionPresent top toward window in mock carton.
3Window imageBars visible; edge marker not visible in this crop.

Question for the model

What discrepancy is visible, and what alternative remains open?

Show the reference answer and checks

Bars at the window disagree with the expected dot pattern from records 1 and 2. Record 3 does not show the edge marker, so record a presentation discrepancy while leaving wrong orientation versus wrong part unresolved. A broader view could distinguish them.

  • Calling the item upside down without confirming identity
  • Inferring edge-marker location outside the crop

Fields to preserve

expected_face_pattern
Connects presentation to the part design
window_pattern
Records what the package actually shows
identity_resolution
Keeps alternate explanations open

Test another case

Use a neighboring model with bars on top and require its identifier before deciding orientation.

No real anti-slip claims, customer artwork, sales records or material properties.

Discuss a contribution

Describe the sources you control, the task they could support and what has already been checked. Use the existing-data assessment for an archive or the collection brief for a new recording project. The contributor agreement defines Fiund’s licensing authority and compensation. A guide or fictional exercise does not establish an accepted collection or a sale.
