NAHAD publishes industry resources for hose distribution and assembly. A manufacturer can define an original task that keeps a component declaration separate from the records supporting the completed assembly. NAHAD industry resources

Create fictional hose and end-component cards, an assembly traveler and an order drawing. Give two assemblies the same hose reference but different end components. Ask the assistant which record set matches the selected order. Include a supplier declaration that covers only the hose and a later proposed substitution that was never executed. The key should preserve source scope and follow the actual assembly record.

Annotate hose, end component, assembly, order revision, execution status and declaration scope. Hold out a new component naming scheme for evaluation. Score a component statement extended to the full assembly, use of the proposal and wrong-order matching independently. The exercise should not derive pressure capability, service compatibility or installation approval from a visual match.

Use paper props, original drawings and invented values. Customer designs, licensed specifications, supplier reports and proprietary assembly records need appropriate authority and specialist review. A licensing brief should state the component-and-scope task and checked examples. Establish buyer requirements before preparing additional production data or capture.

Original Fiund exercise

A hose-body record does not cover its ends

Paper bands stand in for a hose assembly. All part identifiers are fictional and no operating characteristics appear.

Fictional records supplied to the evaluator
RecordSourceWhat it records
1Order drawingAssembly A4 uses body H1 and ends E2 and E3.
2TravelerInstalled ends recorded E2 and E4.
3Source statementDocument Q covers body H1 only.

Question for the model

What should the assembly reviewer flag?

Show the reference answer and checks

The second end is logged as E4 where record 1 calls for E3. Record 3 identifies source evidence for H1 but says nothing about either installed end. Keep the traveler discrepancy separate from body documentation; the statement cannot cover the entire assembly.

  • Treating the body certificate as whole-assembly coverage
  • Comparing a set of ends without distinguishing positions

Fields to preserve

end_position
Joins each end to the correct slot
observed_component
Records installed identifier by position
source_document_scope
Prevents evidence from expanding beyond H1

Test another case

Specify identical ends on both positions, then document a different substitute on one end only; retain position-specific history.

No pressure ratings, actual fittings, hydraulic advice or authentic customer drawings.

Discuss a contribution

Describe the sources you control, the task they could support and what has already been checked. Use the existing-data assessment for an archive or the collection brief for a new recording project. The contributor agreement defines Fiund’s licensing authority and compensation. A guide or fictional exercise does not establish an accepted collection or a sale.
