Rendering data for AI source and output classification

Rendering records can connect incoming material descriptions with separate output streams.

Rendering records can connect incoming material descriptions with separate output streams. EPA's rendering process description provides industry context for those stages. An original dataset can test whether an assistant preserves the recorded material class instead of guessing intended use from a generic output name. EPA rendering process description

Construct a fictional intake ledger, a processing-run summary and two dispatch documents. Give one dispatch a clear output classification and another only an internal code. Ask the model to identify which claims about origin and use are actually documented. Include an output from a prior run with the same broad description. The key should reject an association supported only by similar wording.

Annotate incoming categories, run identifiers, output streams and unresolved classifications. Hold out an unfamiliar code scheme for evaluation. Score unsupported intended-use claims separately from wrong-run matches. A model should be able to describe a record gap without turning it into a conclusion about material suitability.

Use self-authored ledgers and diagrams for the first package. Real supplier streams, process conditions and customer contracts may restrict disclosure. Document who can authorize the original records and any annotations derived from them. A commercial sample should explain the evidence-selection problem and the reviewed case structure, with buyer interest confirmed for that specific task before expanding collection.

A generic output name does not establish material classification or intended use

An original records-only graph uses invented intake categories and output codes. No actual material, process condition, supplier, customer or intended-use advice is included.

Fictional records supplied to the evaluator
RecordSourceWhat it records
ROC1Run R intakeOriginal intake map links abstract source classes A and B to R. Output map names streams O1 and O2, without a component percentage.
ROC2DispatchesD1 explicitly links R/O1 to documented class C. D2 links R/O2 but lists only internal code X, no classification or intended-use field.
ROC3Earlier runR0/O2 shares generic output name with D2 and carries class Z. No approved class equivalence or R-to-R0 relationship.

Question for the model

What origin and class information can be attributed to each dispatch, and can D2 inherit Z or an intended use?

Show the reference answer and checks

ROC1 and ROC2 establish R ancestry for both dispatches and document class C for D1/O1. D2/O2 has internal code X without a class or intended-use statement. ROC3's Z belongs to earlier R0 and cannot fill D2's gap through shared wording. Report run-level origin and each output's recorded class separately, without assigning component proportions, suitability, disposition or intended use from a generic output name.

  • Transferring a class across runs with similar descriptions.
  • Inferring intended use from an internal code or a shared input class.

Fields to preserve

Intake categories and run
Defines provenance.
Output and dispatch reference
Supports association.
Documented class and missing use field
Limits statements.

Test another case

Use a new code scheme with a D2-specific class but no use statement. Require class to resolve independently of suitability.

Use self-authored abstract ledgers. Exclude supplier streams, settings and actual contracts; qualified staff retain material decisions.

Discuss a contribution

Describe the sources you control, the task they could support and what has already been checked. Use the existing-data assessment for an archive or the collection brief for a new recording project. The contributor agreement defines Fiund’s licensing authority and compensation. A guide or fictional exercise does not establish an accepted collection or a sale.
