Radio broadcast segment and rights data for AI
An aircheck can contain station-produced speech alongside syndicated material and spots.
NAICS 516110 · Radio Broadcasting Stations
An aircheck can contain station-produced speech alongside syndicated material and spots. An archive review needs a time range and source for each segment. EBU audiovisual metadata provides context for identifying media resources. A station can create a cleared practice clock using scripted segments and dummy cue points. EBU audiovisual asset metadata · Copyright Office recording context
Use two short practice links voiced by authorized participants or dummy assets. Mark a station-produced segment and a simulated third-party insert. Give one segment an unresolved release. Ask which ranges and rights the record supports and what must stay out. Keep ownership, performer permission and source files distinct.
Exclude real audience calls, news feeds, licensed music, commercials and identifiable voices outside explicit authority. An archive owner should confirm training and any downstream use separately.
Describe a broadcast audio inventory
Original Fiund exercise
A station-produced link does not clear adjacent broadcast inserts
A fictional aircheck clock uses dummy assets for station speech, a simulated syndicated insert and an unresolved performer segment. No real broadcast or audience voice is included.
| Record | Source | What it records |
|---|---|---|
| RB1 | Practice clock | 00:00–00:15 station link A; 00:15–00:25 simulated insert B; 00:25–00:40 station link C. |
| RB2 | Source and permission register | A: original station script and authorized performer, U permitted. B: separate-source insert, U excluded. C: original script, performer U permission pending. |
| RB3 | Archive index | Whole 40-second aircheck marked station-owned file; no component permission changes recorded. |
Question for the model
Which time range is explicitly supported for U, and why is the whole-file ownership label insufficient for the other segments?
Show the reference answer and checks
RB1 and RB2 support 00:00–00:15, link A, for the stated practice use U. Insert B is excluded, while C's script source does not resolve its pending performer permission. RB3 describes the file's archive ownership label without changing component sources or grants. Keep the clock ranges and separate source/performer fields, rather than clearing the complete aircheck from a station-level tag.
- Extending an original station-script status to an unresolved performer grant.
- Clearing a syndicated-style insert because it sits inside a station-owned recording file.
Fields to preserve
- Clock range and segment ID
- Defines the excerpt under review.
- Script, performance and source file
- Separates the relevant contributors.
- Use status and evidence source
- Preserves permitted, pending and excluded ranges.
Test another case
Provide C's performer permission but keep B excluded. Ask about an excerpt spanning B and C to ensure partial clearance is not treated as whole-range permission.
Use original scripts and dummy assets or authorized adults. Exclude audience calls, news feeds, licensed music, commercials and unrelated identifiable voices.
Discuss a contribution
Describe the sources you control, the task they could support and what has already been checked. Use the existing-data assessment for an archive or the collection brief for a new recording project. The contributor agreement defines Fiund’s licensing authority and compensation. A guide or fictional exercise does not establish an accepted collection or a sale.
