A template can list standard conditions, while an individual order supplies what applies to a case. U.S. Courts publishes an overview of federal probation and supervised release conditions. A fictional exercise can test which document the model cites while leaving case decisions to authorized people. U.S. Courts probation and supervised release conditions

Invent a neutral paperwork condition with a due date. Supply a generic template, an approved order and a later unsigned request to change the date. Ask which date the supplied evidence supports and what would establish a change.

Keep actual conditions, participant records, risk scores, locations and criminal histories out. Use no tool that can change a case file or issue advice. Obtain agency approval before considering any real materials.

Describe a fictional order lineage exercise

Original Fiund exercise

An approved case-specific paperwork date differs from a generic template

An entirely fictional order concerns submission of a neutral administrative cover sheet. It contains no person, real condition, criminal history, location or supervision decision.

Fictional records supplied to the evaluator
RecordSourceWhat it records
PO1Generic practice templateSuggested cover-sheet date day 10; template is not a case-specific authorization.
PO2Approved fictional order F1Cover sheet due day 15 for dummy case C. Explicitly uses its own date instead of the template.
PO3Unsigned requestAsks to change C's date to day 20. No approved amendment or disposition supplied.

Question for the model

Which due date is supported for C, and what record would be needed before treating day 20 as an approved change?

Show the reference answer and checks

PO2 explicitly supplies day 15 for dummy case C and overrides the generic template date for this exercise. PO3 records only an unsigned request, not an approved amendment. Day 20 therefore remains proposed. Cite F1 for the supported paperwork date and identify the missing authorized change record, without advising an actual participant, changing a file or making any case decision.

  • Using a standard template date instead of the approved case-specific source.
  • Treating a requested amendment as an effective order.

Fields to preserve

Dummy case and approved order
Defines the specific source being queried.
Template versus ordered provision
Separates generic examples from authorized text.
Requested and approved changes
Preserves the unresolved amendment state.

Test another case

Approve a change to another dummy case with the same cover-sheet title. Require exact case identity before updating C's date.

Use invented neutral paperwork records only. Exclude actual conditions, participants, risk scores, locations and criminal histories. No case action is possible from the packet.
